Hey OP - just FYI it's hard to read. The TW upload style doesn't have a lot of resoultion. I recommend imgur.com if you want to make it more legible.

That Camry has a second "add-on" sticker above the factory sticker. Curious what the total is on there and if there is one of those on the Tacoma as well?

Something like...plus a $1299 dealer/doc fee, plus the $799 "protection package" (car wax and floor mats) they install on every vehicle on the lot, plus $299 for VIN etching on the windows, plus $250 for a shitty tint job they already paid some mobile guy $75 to do... So yeah, add $3k worth of bullshit, then take off $4k and people think they are getting a steal...

Guess you missed the "something like" in my post.

It was a hypothetical example of what you often see at dealers using advertised discounts as bait to get you to stop in. SMH

Guys...Let's STOP this madness. I posted the thread with the intention that some of us will take the opportunity to score a good deal but most of you KIDS are full of something. Here are the answers to some of the questions:

Doc Fee - $299 (I know this is BS)
The Camry has about $1500 of add-ons. Together the sticker is about $34,xxx. it has $7000 off tag but I'm sure you can do better than that (I did it)
The Taco is TRD Sport DCLB, NO add-ons...MSRP is 36,898 with $4000 off tag..again you can do better than that.

I bought a Tundra Limited CrewMax 4x4 with 5.7L V8, Navi, JBL, and an Offroad package. Since this is a Taco forum I don't think you guys are interested in my purchase.

Sure, shake your head. I did not miss your "something like" wording. I just decided to post something accurate.

I fully understood your post, your rationale, and intent. I am fully aware of bait and dealer tricks. But your example was an order of magnitude exaggerated on the doc fee, so I posted the correct number. Since we are talking about a specific deal at a specific dealer, it's worth knowing what the real number is in this case. Simple as that.

    Enjoy your head shake.

    all tore up already
Bahahahahaha i know those tags all too well. GOOD LUCK to anyone who steps foot on a dealer lot while a "super sale" is going on with traveling salesman which is exactly what is happening. Freaking ruins the business and customers, traveling team tuns back to florida with piles of cash. Guarentee every vehicle was marked up probably 6000 across the board the week prior, then they take 4000 off, have you spin a wheel or scratch a ticket for "additional savings" get everyone all excited and worked up and confused and get you signed over sticker.

Shit i probably know the team there this week!

uh so ironically the dealer must have been Baxter here in Lincoln. I had been shopping the Tacoma for a few months now and we stopped in on the way back from the Omaha zoo and noticed the $4,000 off. The $6,000 markup the week before didn't happen. Was a legitimate sale. I had been doing my homework.

I have a 2016 in my driveway now. Maybe layoff the OP?
