that’s what I’m thinking. I already put defoulers on cuz I was getting a consistent p0420 for a while. The combination of the two is a new development.

I'd be a little nervous about the p11ed. That code seems to point to burnt valves and head/valve rebuild or replacement.

P11ED00 Cylinder #2 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance (Port) The difference in air fuel ratios between the cylinders exceeds the threshold (2 trip detection logic).
    • Port fuel injector assembly

    • Direct fuel injector assembly

    • Intake system

    • Gas leaks from exhaust system

    • Ignition system

    • Compression pressure

    • Air fuel ratio sensor (sensor 1)

    • ECM
Comes on DTC stored SAE Code: P11ED

This is incredible. On the high mileage thread most of the 3rd gens are the 2.7. It’s nice seeing the 3.5 on here. That trucks a pure workhorse.

Yeah, this is an old reply but worthy of an inquisitive reply. lol

I say this because it took me 16+ years to get 200K miles on my 2003 Honda Pilot (purchased in HI in 2002).

Pilot spent 3 years in Germany and Italy as well as Delaware in between...and did a cross-country trip from Dover, DE to Alamogordo, NM.

I was on my third set of tires and bought new rotors during that last brake job. Timing belt done at 90K and replaced the transmission at 190K miles.

Then in Oct 2018, some lady decided to be in the suicide lane and ruined my day.

Longevity is a mainstay with these vehicles from Japan.

Hopefully its not the valves. It runs fine, doesn't idle rough or throw any misfire codes like some of the others with a similar code. When it does throw the code its in the morning before or right after the truck gets up to operating temp. I'm gonna replace the spark plugs again this weekend and check compression in all of the cylinders while they're out.

Good plan but you may want to do a leakdown instead of compression test.

I'm not saying it isn't possible.

My testimonial was unintended but profoundly rewarding.

When we were in the office 5 days per week, I had a 100 mile roundtrip to work, which came out to be 500 miles per week or 2000 miles per month.
We are hybrid for now but returning to 5 days per week in January. Commute is going to suck big time, but you get a job where one is available and sometimes for the decent jobs you have to drive further. I have old beater car that I'm planning to use and split the miles with the truck.

Wow, you really tow some heavy stuff. That's encouraging. I have a 6x14 enclosed and 7x16 flat trailers. Both tandem axle. And sometimes I think I'm towing heavy.
