It’s bullshit. Feeders or not, birds will migrate.

If you’re really into hummingbirds (and y’all are supposed to be) this is the best site to know when to put up/take down hummingbird feeders. Once they get close to my area I put them out. Usually there’s a scout bird or adventurous early migrator that shows up a few weeks before the others. I’ll put mine out early for them. And take them down a few weeks after I’ve not seen them.

In milder areas a few will over-winter so feeders can be left out all year.

Thanks, figured as much. Figured take them down when you stop seeing them and put them up when it starts to warm up.

Damn Dr. Called me fat. (Might be warranted with a BMI of 33 but Obese I am not.) Still, I've decided to give up pop as a daily caffeine supplement. Then I just got my blood work back. Everything looks great except my cholesterol is a little high. 229. I guess I'll try to eat a little healthier as well. We've gotten bad about eating out a lot more than we should so I'm sure that plays into it too. I guess its time to get my ass up and out of this little funk I've been in the last 3 years with the shit with Noah. Time to move on and take care of myself.

Was in a similar boat. Started riding a bike again (dislike running) and being more sensable with meals. Actually did full vegan for 3 months too.
Not exactly where I wanna be but getting there.

Kidding aside, this time of year is the worst for me. I hate just "exercising" and won't go to the gym. I like doing actual physical work, like a yard project or something, and riding trails. Not paved trails, single-track trails in the woods. Tried road biking, absolutely hated it. But by this time of year, there's been a few months where very little of that has happened and I'm up at least 5 pounds if not more. I'm ready for spring and some dry weather.

Think their map is off LOL. They show sightings of Ruby throats in Mn. but with more than 2 feet of snow on the deck and temps seldom getting above freezing don't think so. Not yet. Rubies are about all we get here for hummers. Once it warms up and they return I will start shooting them again.

Will not be for a couple of months yet, the dark eyed junco's need to return to Canada first. Sometime end of April or May at the earliest.

I've had 2 of those in the last 10 years Murph, they both eventually leaked. Got the high altitude disk for them CS is great they send them for free. I like the Bunn makers one of the few to get water hot enough that it taste like real coffee. And what I drank coffee out of for 20 years on ships.

Down to only a couple cups a day now so went to the dark side when the last Bunn started leaking.

    But stayed with Bunn

Which reminds me I need to order some more Canadian Crack soon (Tim Hortons)

I just bought a single speed mtn bike for riding around the hood. I live on a peninsula so we get no traffic other than folks that live in there. Perfect place to just cruise around. Road it for about an hour last night. Holy fuck crap am I out of shape!!!!
I like the single speed for what I wanted it for because it keeps you working no matter what the speed, so I dont need to be going on 70 mile rides. Glad to be riding a bike again to be honest.

You should try this and see how it compares to the results of the vegan diet.

I saw that the other day. Does it work pretty good?

I find it funny that they won’t sell the gasket to fix them when they start leaking. I think the lid on the carafe alone was worth getting a new one anyway.

We have a Mr. Coffee that drips into a stainless carafe. It has a removable water container which makes it easy to fill. We've considered the Keurig-style thingies, but we really only drink coffee in the morning and so have little/no need for single-cup function. And I absolutely love the ability to keep my cup at the "just right" temperature by adding a bit at a time from the carafe.

And here I thought Clint was the mascot, sighhh...

Of course, some birds you just don't shoot with a gun

Not sure what that funky exotic hummer is on the home page. But look forward to going some place warm for the winter to find out. Only a few more years to the second and final retirement.

Speaking of which you ever make it back to the Dakotas for birds? Had one of my best years on ruffs here in Mn. last year. Couldn't make SD this year due to work but the drought put a damper on phez. anyhow.

Yeah very pleased with it. So far only have used the K cups and haven't done pods, loose, etc. For just a couple of cups in the morning it works well. Still have my last Bunn as an emergency backup (leak isn't that bad) and 3 percs- 1 electric and 2 stove\camping ones LOL. Used to drink coffee and be able to go to bed right after now I seem to need to stop around noon or so if I plan on sleeping. If I was still drinking a full pot or more a day would have gotten the one you did again.

Not yet. I was going to go last year but my buddies brother said he would go out for days and not see any phez. So we bagged the trip. Apparently, like you say, they took a beating. Probably wont be good for a few years unfortunately.
