My wife signed me up as a joke. Went along with the colonoscopy appointment. Fair's fair I guess, I had a whole care package of Depends and other stuff for her (she's a year older than me).

You are not there yet anyway. But yeah, really no point.

Jesus, man...don’t remind me of what’s in store for me when I hit 50. I’m fairly healthy albeit a little fat but shit man...you make this sound depressing now.

Shall I rename the thread to the 40-60 thread?

Got to see the principals office at my sons school today. 4th grader tried to bully my 2nd grader. My son used some karate and stopped it. Principals office drama ensued.

That kid is going to be running with his blinker on for awhile as my boy popped him good. I’m doing my best to be a responsible parent right now but I desperately want to revel in it as he easily outclassed my son by at least 30 lbs and 12”.

Mine's 10 and 49" tall. He took on 2 on the playground a while back. They were bullying him and he knocked them down and kicked them in the head. He got to spend a day the next week with me at the house for it. Oh did I mention he also falcon punched them to get them on the ground? He's a vicious little fucker. Haha

He got invited to stay home tomorrow as well which sucks as his class is supposed to be going to the city park for a lunch picnic. Thankfully his teacher called about an hour ago and said that if we wanted to turn up he was welcome to hang out “near” his classmates. We will see, I’m thinking just rescheduling my dialysis treatment and taking him to the zoo to hang out and talk for awhile.

Always sucks to miss a field trip.

He got in trouble earlier this school year. Come to find out he was being bullied again and didn’t want to tell anyone. He’s funny like that. He’ll just take the punishment for something he was doing defending himself. When he did finally say something I went up to the school and had a heart to heart with the asst principle. I said we already found out the bs from last year was from him being bullied and no one believed him. Now he’s dealing with the same shit this year. I told her she could do something or I’ll go to the top of this school system till they do. She took care of the problem right away. He’s already a lot smaller than his classmates but he’s full of piss and vinegar when someone fucks with him. He doesn’t take shit off of anyone.

Last week we got his test results back from the froth hormone test. They said normal was a 10 and he was at 1.7

So he got approved for the hormone shots. Now we’re just waiting on insurance approval and he’ll be on that till he’s around 16. Said he has the potential to be 5’8”. I know it bothers him being smaller than everyone else even if he says it doesn’t. But soon he’s start growing.

They have a strict no fighting policy. All participants get a minimum of one day off. The other kid got a week for instigating. It’s BS, but it was part of the policy when we signed him into the school.

I doubt his mind could even comprehend that.

He was visibly upset when I finally got there and the principal laid it out to me. She explained the situation to me and then I asked him how it went down, and he pretty much told me the same. To the principals chagrin I reminded him that as an American citizen that he had the right to defend himself and that while the school has a no fighting policy, he wasn’t in trouble with me. I’m sure a special note about his kooky old man is now in his permanent record.

I don’t stress over it but my wife does which I’m certain confuses the boy to a degree. Luckily I’ve never baby talked him so he gets it straight and honest from me in words that I know he understands. He was actually worried that he was going to get kicked out of karate school for it so I had him explain what happened to his instructor and he effectively mirrored what I said that to use it to defend yourself is acceptable, but not to continue when the bully stops. He’s still wrapping his head around it as this is the first time he’s dealt with it all but I think he’s got it.

It’s mostly military kids so the bulk of the students come with some form of structure from home. This is a local kid that apparently likes to find smaller kids to play his power trips on. This time he picked the wrong little kid. I waiting for his parents to say something to me but they were typical cowards and avoided me completely, I kinda figured that’s how it would go down when I saw them so I wasn’t surprised.

I intentionally keep him focused on the correct track with scouts, karate, archery, and chores. I know that sooner or later he won’t see his father the way he does now but I just hope I can get as much common sense into him before his old man becomes an idiot and then just hold on until he decides it’s cool to be around me again. He’s eight now so I reckon I’ve got four more years at minimum.

Finally getting the deck finished up. Stained and about 75% painted it's all detail painting so it takes a long time and lots of patience. I had to stop for the day when I started painting things that I wasn't supposed to.
