So, I enjoy reading but there is not much out there I find I enjoy reading. Well, aside from technical shit on forums. Then, I come across a book at work. It’s called “The Hidden Brain” and it was in one of our leadership libraries. Now, immediately I’m thinking “Joy, more leadership BS to shove down our throats...”. I think I might be wrong on this one. I just started it and I plan on reading a chapter or two a day at lunch. So far, it’s got my attention and if you have a chance to read it, I would recommend it.

Here’s a taster on what it’s generally about.

    List of chapters.

Is this the book which you are referring too? Sounds pretty interesting. One of my favorite pastimes is reading. If so... I might have to check it out.

Sounds a lot like this guy, I have seen him speak a couple of times. You can skip the long-winded grandstanding by the school administrator, and this one isn't nearly as good as the ones I have seen.

So on PS4 there is Grand Turismo Sport. Each real world track is laser scanned down to the most minute detail. As most of you know, I am extremely passionate about cars so this game fits me perfectly. There are circuit challenges that you can not change any set up on the vehicle that the game provides.

So for the full lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife to unlock Gold you are locked into a BMW M6 GT3 and you have to run a 6:57.900 to achieve Gold. Here is my lap that put me in 15th position in the world. This is what a damn near perfect lap looks like. If I hadn't went wide on 3 corners I could have probably saved 3 secs and be in the top 10 but I'm happy with this lap. There are no map markers so track knowledge is key. But since I've (virtually) run this well over 10,000 times, I know every single bump, apex, braking point, etc. Ended up with a lap time of 6:43.984.

If you enjoy running a wide range of real world cars around a track that you will most likely never be able to do in real life, this is the next best thing.

    Enjoy.

*EDIT* This was done completely with a controller and not a steering wheel. I also recommend watching it in full screen to get the full effect.

Spent too much time today trying to troubleshoot my inoperable ARB compressor. Would not fire up at all.
Replaced the pressure switch and relay, completely removed, cleaned and reinstalled it. Checked every wire connection.
    Still nothing. :annoyed:

No compressor = no lockers. :(

I was hoping to take the truck for my trip to Roanoke and Raleigh for my work trip next week then spend Saturday doing some wheeling in Uwharrie.

Think I’m going to have to do the right thing & just take the car.

smell the motor - burnt smell , yup it's cooked. Can also measure the resistance - Zero ohms = cooked (varnish melted on the windings) >1000Ohms = no good either. Not sure if these motors use brushes, but that should be replaceable.
