What a cool fucking introspective interview. I grew up with John Mellencamp (as I'm sure most of you did also) but I never knew that he didn't like performing. As much as he has done for Farm Aid etc... He's just a cool fucking dude. I've kind of been watching a bunch of Sammy Hagar's stuff also and came across this little gem.

Did anyone watch the Masters and Tiger win it? Fucking unbelievable.

If you did, you very well may have watched one of the greatest comebacks in sports history. Fucking awesome.

Watching golf is right up there with watching paint dry. But cool that he's back in it.

I was reading about it. All those timbers that formed the roof structure came from the equivalent of a 50 acre forest, (and so its called the Forest) with each timber milled from one tree. I would imagine those were straight oak trunks. That will be difficult to replace, much less find the knowledgeable & skilled craftsmen to rebuild using the joinery techniques. I can only imagine what the intense heat inside has done to the stone work with water sprayed on it. I've seen how concrete 'scales' in those conditions, as seen the aftermath of rocks when exposed to a forest fire.

Such beautiful wood and craftsmanship. It is truly amazing that the timbers have lasted/survived under load for 8 centuries.

It's horrible. All that stained glass, the spire, the priceless articles that were lost, etc... I hate to see anything like this.

From what I understand they have ruled out arson and terrorism so that most likely leaves the reconstruction team that was working on it. That's pure speculation at this time but it seems like the most likely source. It's terrible seeing something like this happen to such an iconic structure. The images of the spire falling into the church broke my heart.

I remember when my parents church moved to the location they are at now. The original church was the oldest in the city and Childrens Hospital had been begging to buy the church for the land that it sat on for years. They finally sold it to them and moved to their new location and I hated that. They tore down the vast majority of the church (which was beautiful btw) for a parking lot and a few office buildings. That broke my heart also.

That was hysterical. Tiger actually laughed. It is now a political meme that I saw on my FB thread. The 1st pic is the mug shot and said "Under Obama" and the second one is him putting the green jacket on and said "Under Trump".

Its a dumb meme, because neither president has ANY influence over golf or the individual accomplishment of the PGA players. I just think the whole thing is funny. Tiger came full circle. He overcame a massive amount of criticism, social/public humiliation, personal grief and strife, injuries, medical procedures and to make that comeback on a platform as notoriously difficult as the Masters is a tremendous accomplishment.

And this is coming from someone that was extremely critical of him 15 years ago. In fact, I hated him, I wished him to not win back then. With that said, I have watched how he has changed his demeanor and on course behavior and he has impressed me to the point where I was cheering his ass on for the entire tournament and he is now one of my favorites.

What he brings to the game is tremendous. I read an article about what it must have been like for Mulinari (the guy that lead until he watered out) having the entire world not wanting you to win. If you think about it and go back and watch the crowd during that round, Mulinari would make a great shot and all he would get was a typical golf clap, and then you have Tiger and just about every good shot he made the place erupted. Same thing with Finau the other guy in the group, both those guys played exceptional golf and under any other circumstance I honestly think the outcome would be hugely different. If you look at the field of players that were within contention that day, it wasn't like any other Maasters in the history of it. The list of top rank players at the top was incredible. It was ANYONES day. Yet here we have Tiger as the winner. Just think about that, he hasnt won a major in 11 years, and the pressure that he puts on people just by being there had a major influence over the outcome. Schauflee even said it, he was putting a push on at the end and couldnt do it and he even said losing to Tiger was like a dream. Then as Tiger was walking in, the cadre of top players waiting to shake his hand and congratulate him was huge.

I said it before and I will say it again, if you watched the Masters on Sunday, you witnessed one of the most incredible comebacks in sports history. I am just glad that I was able to see it, I will honestly remember it as one of the greatest sprting events I have ever seen. Rivals some of the Jack Nicklaus documentaries I have seen.

You have to be a golf fan to really give a damn. I find the DMV to be more entertaining.

I hate I missed it. I don't watch golf but I wish I would have seen this.

I've always liked Tiger. When he came up he was just amazing. All the shit that went down in his personal life I could give a shit about. If I were as famous as he was and had the ability that he has I would have probably been in the same boat. Same thing if I had somehow been able to become a rock star. You all would be talking about me in the past tense right now. So I don't fault him for the decisions he made at a younger age. God knows I've made plenty of stupid decisions (and still do if I'm honest). I think there were some that hated him 'because' he won all the time but I wasn't one of them. The shots he made were incredible. And it is amazing after all he has been through after 11 years to come back and win the most prestigious golf tournament around. Congrats to him. I'm glad he was able to pull it off and I hope he remains around for a long time to come.
