She was a train wreck. Still is. I would be too. I spoke to her husband yesterday after Masons surgery and let him know he’d be ok. Two of their 7 kids are in classes with both of mine.

I will never own carpet again. We normally have the carpet professionally cleaned once a year. But I bought a carpet cleaner this year for a little more than we were paying to have it done and just did it myself. This thing works amazingly well. Carpets look new again but holy fuck... even though I vacuum at least twice a week you cannot imagine the amount of nasty shit that comes out of your carpet when you clean it. The water looked like mud. Fucking gross. Luckily we only have carpet in the bedrooms. The rest of the house is hardwood. I’m only living in a place with hardwood floors from now on.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of carpet at all. I like stained concrete as well.

We have a few houses in the neighborhood that have stained concrete and it looks nice as well. My preference would be in floor heating if I had concrete floors. But I'm done with carpet after today. I never got to see the shit that came out of the carpet since we always had it done. But after today? Fuck carpet.

He perked up a lot this evening after a bath. Shared an ice cream with his sister.
She’s been completely beside herself with worry and up until this evening he’s been too out of it to really interact with her.

Hopefully he’ll be able to come home tomorrow. :fingerscrossed:

So...I need to drop a few pounds. Had my “welcome to 50” physical today. Blood work was great, except for my A1C.

This sedentary office work is going to kill me.

    So long, pretzels and beer!

Hey, a smile! How long before the swelling on the hand and arm goes down?

Ketogenic diet is where it’s at... we’ve even got a thread on it here. I’ll try to post a link.

They actually cut the cast all the way in half and then wrapped it up with an ace bandage to hold it in place to relieve the pressure from the swelling.
Depending on what it looks like tomorrow they will either leave it that way for a week or if the swelling has gone down enough they will re-cast it.

So glad to see this my friend. Looks like he is in good spirits. I'm sure his sister and the ice cream helped with that. If there is a silver lining in all of this, kids generally heal relativity fast. Here's to hoping the arm heals quickly. Concussions are no joke so hopefully there won't be any lasting side effects. I've had one in my life and they are not fun at all.

Just spent nearly 2 hours on the phone catching up with Anthony. He was in Chicago all weekend and missed a lot of what was going on.

So thankful for my TW family. Don’t know what I’d do without y’all.

    Thank you!!!!!

Yea, I’ve unfortunately been through it as well. The only good thing is that it hopefully will remove all memory of the actual incident itself and he will not have to worry about that part of it.
I’m hoping will be able to bring him home tomorrow. I will keep you all posted. Thank you!

Yeah, we just have it in the bedrooms as well. I've owned a Hoover Steamvac for years -- they work great and pay for themselves in one cleaning, but yeah, always surprised at how gross the water comes out. We ripped out all the carpet on the main floor of our last house and put down bamboo, so much better.

My wife is at 40+ pounds and counting, keto is what works for her. Good to see her coming out of her "cancer bubble" and having some success losing weight.

    Looking great!
