I had a cute student armed with fresh knowledge and desire to do well. Worked out great for both of us. That's the thing about dealing with anyone in the healing arts. You have to find a good match. Move on if you don't like them or get a bad vibe. Orthopedists and surgeons are weird, or at least the good ones are.

My thought is that you are the head of the family unit and are the most likely to be able to protect them, just like you do with your wife and daughter. They have somewhat disproven the alpha dog theory and shown it's more about the family unit. There is a pecking order below that, though, and if I was a betting man I would put money on the cat being a bit higher in your family unit. Because cat.

All 5 of our dogs gravitate to me, especially under stressful situations. Yeah. Too many dogs. But the old girl needs a vet trip, and I am afraid it might be her last.

Bear likes Starbucks. Sorry for the shitty picture but he was having a blast. I had to calm him down because he hates storms and it is storming here like crazy.

Lots of big booms here today, estimating 4 inches of rain. In laws are here from TX and said they have never heard thunder like that. Sun is out now, though. Flood warnings still in effect. Turn around, don't drown. I heard lots of evacs and rescues going on in the Ozark NF.

Pretty much the same here. It's forecast to rain most of the night with heavy thunderstorms. Just had a huge downpour that lasted for about 30 mins and I wouldn't be surprised if it rained an inch here in that time period. I couldn't even see the house across the street.
I will never ever complain about rain in the summertime. After having to replace my yard with new sod back in 2011 I will never turn down rain in the summer. I remember I laid the first piece of sod on June 1st and it never rained one drop here until the middle of Sept. That was also the year it broke all the records for heat. We had one stretch in Aug. that it reached 116 degrees for five days straight. Factor in the humidity and it felt like it was 332 degrees. The only good thing about that year is we had to recert in swiftwater so that made going to work a little more bearable.

Alright, watching The Green Book. Fucking fantastic.
Funny, serious and historically sad all at the same time.

Sorry about the back Britt. Better finding that shit now than latter though.

@sandjunkie let him have his fun. Shit, you guys think you were whores? I would fuck anything that walked. Shit, even if they couldn’t walk.
Bit different now of course but when I was young, that’s what being you is all about.
Just like the old joke about the old bull and young bull standing on the hill looking down at the herd of cows.

    Sowing oats and all that.

    Anyhow, Green Book. Watch it.

The green book was an excellent movie. They had an original book in the African American Museum when we went to DC.

They're good as independent auditors. We see them and the Clifton Larson Associates (who do the IT security side) every year.

    Good luck to him.

It was. Not sure about now since Netflix rotates their lineup of shows pretty often. I watched it when it first came out.

Is Green Book the one with Aragorn (Viggo)? My mom was telling me about that one but did a terrible job. Plus she doesn't know who anybody in the movie is or what they previously were in.

I was mistaken. I watched The Green Book on Smithsonian Channel. Not the movie but the documentary. I forgot there was a movie with the same name. I'm sorry to say that I was unaware of the Green Book until I went to the African American Museum in DC and saw it in person. Then I studied up on it and realized how significant those books were for African Americans traveling in the South (and other places). The documentary was a very good documentary that really expanded upon the book and its significance.

Yeah it's that one. I'd much rather see a movie that I don't know the performers. I see enough of the big stars as it is. I like seeing new talent because there is a lot of good talent out there. That was one reason why I liked Kodachrome so much. The only big star in that movie was Ed Harris. I tend to like Indie films over blockbusters anyday.

Same, it's budget goes to good writing, screenplay and location instead of some overpaid actor/actress.

That's one reason I've always liked (most) of Kevin Smith's movies. Clerks was an amazing movie made for $27,000.

Yes, thats the one. I had no idea about who either of the main characters were, I just watched the trailer and thought it might be a good movie. It was. Very eye opening. I always knew that the south in that era was extremely and openly rascist. It's just a great movie on how ones perceived view of a culture or race can be changed by getting to know someone.

I recommend it, you wont be disappointed.

Wouldnt be overly concerned with me killing myself on one of those. I would be concerned with every other asshat that is on the road.

Crotch rockets is how I would kill myself.
