I was more excited about the airplanes, but whatever. I think the Army equivalent is pawn shops and used car lots.

You had me at IMAX. Though I doubt it was shot in imax format.

Edit : I stand corrected, looked it up, and it has been filmed with certified digital IMAX format cameras.

The main reason I'm going to see it is for the planes and the nostalgia. I saw the first one when I was 16 so it's been a long time coming for a sequel. The cinematic sequences should be amazing.

As far as the story goes? I think it will cheesy as fuck. Let me guess? Maverick is still a loose cannon (that somehow gets into a top secret space plane), they will have a volleyball scene, one of the characters that everyone likes in the film is going to die, he falls in love again (this time with a Naval Aviator), someone doesn't like him but he will eventually earn their respect, and we have a dogfight with some country that everyone denies happened. Eh... should be a good movie anyway :)

Here's to hoping they cut out the Val Kilmer teeth chomp.

I'm moderately mixed on TG2. I'll just catch it on streaming or something.

Cause it will look so much better on the small screen with all the cinematic shots

Not sure the viewing angle of my home setup can be considered 'small'. Calculated angle is about 45 degrees. And it's harder to find a theater with a) my beer selection, and b) a pause button.

    By contrast...

    Basically Top Gun in HD/IMAX.

It’ll be entertaining just like the standard definition version was.

Oh... and @Pchop was right. 6 Underground was a great movie. I can't believe they just released it as a Netflix original movie. It could have made a shit ton at the box office but it was still well worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Very entertaining. Only disappointment was I was fully expecting to hear somewhere in the background 6 Underground by the Sneaker Pimps but I never heard it.

I'm just glad they used F-18's and not some old F-16's or the massive F-15.

Now that’s a song I have not heard in a very long time.

Been watching The Expanse on Prime. Pretty good series.

Cause the F-18 is Navy and the other two are Air Force.

When has that ever stopped them from using the wrong plane?
