Everything is 20% higher now and our wages are 20% less due to the crunch on the oilfield. Never had a real budget my entire adult life. We actually have put off a vacation this year and are trying to be smarter about certain purchases. I’m not complaining, it’s just a different now. I guess we better get used to it. Glad to still be gainfully employed.

Several years ago we had a hurricane come through our area and we were out of power for a week. I already had a Generac 8550 storm plus portable generator which ran on gasoline. After about 4 days I had to wait in line for 3 hrs to get 20 gallons of gasoline. I found a kit that allows the unit to run on gasoline or natural gas. I think it was $250. One of the best purchases ever. All appliances in our house uses natural gas. It was a plus all the way around. The natural gas service line is always pressured up. It only require 3-6 oz to run the unit.

Btw, @Blkvoodoo, where did you find the hour meter for the generator? That would be better than just writing it down on a dry erase board that I am doing now.

if we had Natural Gas available here I’d have a whole house back up stand alone. We’re 90-120 miles from the N.C. Coast, and just off I-95 which seems to be a storm corridor. Every few years we do lose power for a few days.

I work on forklifts and other machines, LP and Natural Gas would be my preferred fuel if I could justify it in a bulk scenario

Hour meter came from Amazon (of course)
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087412NTF/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_F5ioFb0ZC1P8V

Easy hook up and no real impact on the engine to install

Any of you Floridians know a good place to learn how to windsurf? Preferably southern or central Florida.

Ever give a thought to paramotoring? Aviator PPG has at least two locations in Florida for sales and training.

I used to watch a guy on YouTube doing that. Looked into going to one of the schools in Florida for it. Looks like a lot of fun.

Nice! I'm not too surprised at the wiring ease, there just isn't that much electrical stuff on the engine. That is until the fuel injected engines get here. :annoyed:
My neighbor is a contractor. He said there are no 4x4s to be had around our area. "You could probably get $300 for a 10-foot 4x4."

There's no shortage of lumber, it's the fact that the Pressure Treating plants were shuttered and now there's such a long backlog of lumber to be treated.

    That's not terribly encouraging!

At this point, I'm contemplating just picking up a few extra 2x4s and screwing them together.

Depends on the application and how hard it would be to remove/replace, it might be an option. My deck was sagging a couple of inches and he needed some 4x4 plus a thick main joist

Not something we stock but likely could source through a 3rd party.
At that point it would probably not be cost effective though.

I'd love to try that. They offer it at Morningside Flight Park in NH, not far from my hometown, but never pursued it. I do love to fly, its definitely an empowering feeling and I imagine paramotoring, or gliding, would be more of a freeing experience than stuck inside a small plane.

Haha, the fuel tank looks like the guy's bare ass!
