    Hello,

Soooo, after 10 years and 412k of faithful service my Tacoma was totaled just before Christmas. I was hit by a driver doing an illegal u-turn from the right lane. He caused me to spin and hit a tree.

The insurance company gave me $10,500.00 for it. I sustained whiplash injuries and am still hurting, but I will be ok.

    And now for the pictures:

Man that sucks. Black Prerunners are the best.

That's a lot of driving in 10 years....lots of roadtrips? or work?

    What's your plans for a next car/truck?

    Sorry for the loss

Same thing happened to my 2001 Tacoma. You may want to buy the salvage if you have a place to store it. Lot of parts still left on that truck

$10k for a truck with 400k miles on it? Not too bad.

Wow, you did get your money’s worth. Granted the truck could have easily reached 800k.

    Other drivers suck

The insurance co. will award you a settlement for your injuries. Hopefully you will completely heal and be fine. Between the settlement for the truck and the settlement for pain/suffering/injuries you may have enough for a new truck.

First of all, sorry for your loss. Second, I hope your injuries all heal up good as new. Third, it sounds like the insurance company offered you a pretty decent settlement on your truck. But as others have said, it's not really in all that bad of shape. It was surely the miles that tipped that scale towards a total loss. Yes, it's got a lot of miles on it, but I bet you could buy the truck back, fix it and still get many more miles out of it should you choose to do so. Good luck!

Sorry to hear and glad you’re okay. Questions, what type of oil did you use and at what change interval? Any major repairs along the way?

412K! Awesome... I always wondered how well these held up in hotter environments (Phoenix in your case). $10,500 seems pretty fair with that kind of mileage. Get well soon!
