uh my gen3 glock 30 holds ten rounds i think you have your models confused dude.

to the op i own more than a couple glocks and i have always loved their reliability cheap prices smooth dehorned design and their high capacity but, their gips are for me at least awful lol.

so long story short i picked up an m&p .40 compact and i have to say it fits me like a glove i have gotten pretty accurate with it i don't think you can go wrong with either. i can tell you the m&p is built with some better materials and processes that much is certain not that it makes a big difference but, it is there. ie, stainless steel slide and barrel both forged then case hardened with melonite to 68 rockwell. which is imo as good as tenifer seeing as how its the same process just with a different additive and the melonite is actually supposed to have some advantages over the tenifer. obviously the 4th gen glock has interchangeable back straps but they don't really make the grip any smaller its more like you start with a regular glock and go up from there. also the smith is fully ambi so i think the smith is an improvement in little ways initial serial numbers had some issues and where taken care of very quickly by smith now they are as reliable or even more so than the glocks from what i have read. my local range has them for 585 with factory night sights and 3 mags! pretty sweet deal.

You can probably come close to $300 on a Ruger p-series.

Yes i have a tactical right now priced 799.95 very clean with orig case.

I sold my brother a rock island and he loves it, plus its not a pretty gun where you want to baby it, not holster it, scratch it. I shot it and it shot very competitively to my colt series 80

First time potential gun buyer....I def want the STOPPING power of the .45 but for some reason my friends all say the glock is better for home defense....For some reason the .45 seems like a better fit....?

if you want the more stopping power than 45 then get 10mm and youll be able to carry more ammo in the same size gun....

buy whats comfy i like the M&P line over the glocks they fit my hand way better....
