gotta 400 in the firebird. Idk, maybe if I do it in reverse the slow trans am will be more reliable and faster

 

I'd stick with the stock tire size on your 454 BB swap or you gas mileage will suffer.

 

Ive seen 350's in an 80's model Toyota 4x4 and i think they had to take tires off to change spark plugs, so it may be doable. Aint the 3rd gen engine bays bigger than the older ones.

 

Subbed. I've been wanting to install spacers on my taco to turn it into a dually and this 454 mod seems right up my alley.

 

Mildly built 1FZ engines are quite fun.

 

Gas prices curb this project?

My brother has a 77 400 trans am auto. I think it makes less hp than my tacoma. It would be pretty embarrassing it the tacoma smokes it.

 

yeah the trans ams aren't the fastest things out there. Sure is a lot of fun though

the good looks and loud noise it makes compensates for the lack of speed. Don't need to go fast to have fun

well sorry im a bit late but just in from garage finished up the BBC install into my 2022 taco no problem but what is the best oil change interval ?

 

Yeah …. I have a cast iron 427 in my ‘69 Camaro. The thing is large and it is HEAVY. Can’t see a 454 swap into a 3rd gen Tacoma going well or cheaply. Entire front end suspension would have to changed for staters.

Yeah … not seeing it or believing it.

 

For the record, it is apparently also an issue if you are on too much of a decline. Was on a STEEP decline and had oil pressure drop enough to light the dash up a couple weeks ago.
