Anyone tried putting an 884 or anything besides stock coils on a 4600?

I have a 14 OR that I bought a set of 2022 takeoffs for the front. Put then on and the ride went from hard to damn near back breaking. So I pulled the coils off and put 884 thinking that was the problem aaaaaaaaand it's still really bad. So now I wanna get a set of 4600 but I don't know whether to use the stock coils from a 22 or the 884s, I don't have the stock coils that came with my truck anymore.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

I have 884s/5100s, I originally had 5100s set on the first notch w/ stock coils. Truck's ride sucked, harsh on small bumps, no surprise, the more you preload a coil spring the less compliant it'll be on small bumps. I swapped over to the 884s and moved the clip back to zero (replaced the sprung hats at the same time), the ride is night and day better. Point being the 884s can ride fine on the 5100s.

Perfect, I didnt get 5100 because the wife really doesn't want her truck lifted so I said screw it let's save the $100 but i was a bit worried it was gonna be as bad as the OEM shocks do with the 884. But as far as I understand the 4600 are same as 5100 on zero right? So no preload

I'm not familiar enough with the 4600s to answer that. I just wanted to point out that the 884s can provide a nice ride so it's not the springs. In my case it was the preloaded stock springs causing a poor ride.

Solved: I installed the 884s on 4600 all around and the truck rides fantastic. I'm thinking the 4600 is a 5100 set to the lowest level but with the 884 coils giving it some help it's actually pretty level.

Long story short. Can be done, works great, would do it again.
