    Great points!!!

    1. I've added a new locking/strap feature for both security and stability for the can! Great idea.
    2. I've published on the webpage the design specs. It should fit most all NATO dimensions. https://tacojerry.com/pages/dimensions-specs
    3. There is a square hole cut in the bottom to allow water to drain. Based off the tacoma bed design the wall and floor isn't at 90 degrees but rather at something closer to 95 degrees. The weight actually works best with the notch resting on the bed as it does because it keeps it seated in the bed even though it's the slippery plastic material. I can def guarantee it won't warp the bed. That would be crazy!
    4. Coating option added to now include a black powder coated option.
    5. The "on-the-rail" tonneau's should all fit with the Taco Jerry. I'd be happy to offer you a guarantee if you send me the brand of the tonneau so I can research real quick it's fit dimensions.

ALSO BASE MODEL PRICE IS NOW REDUCED!!
P.S. - I have no idea how the skeletal ones on Amazon fit into a plastic toyota tacoma bed! Do you know? I can't see any way to attach the metal bracket on the cheap amazon ones to the bed. If you know I'd love to know how. Please share!

Thank you so much for your feedback! It really helps!

    • I'VE LOWERD THE PRICE FOR THE BASE MODEL
    • A Locking/Strap feature has now been added
    • Dimensions and design specs are now provided https://tacojerry.com/pages/dimensions-specs
    • Sorry about the fasteners. More people wanted security from theft in my initial research.
The positive points are really appreciated!

To clarify, not warp, flex. The composite bed flexes, especially when doing technical crawling or off roading, I wonder if it will squeak sitting on the bed, as the bed flexes and the rails keep it mostly immobile. That's all.

I mean, personally I'd prefer the bottom one if you just gave me two simple strap slots between the top front panel and the bottom front panel. Basically exactly like you have your locking cable, except just cutouts so I can use my own straps. I don't need it locking, I just like it being secured in transit.

Well that's super cool to hear. I think in the future I could have those slots machined into each bracket. For now though if you would like me to custom cut those slots in a bracket I would be happy to do that. Send me an ugly sketch in my inbox for where you want those slots to go!

I'll just pop it on here, in case anyone else has any better ideas on positioning. And now that I've thought about it, I think only one might be needed, given that I plan on using a ratchet strap - this gets it below the line of the mount point, but will still let you put the strap between the body of the can and the grab handles on NATO cans. Or somewhere around there, since you built it, you can select the best positioning for it.

Maybe 1-1.5 or even 2", rounded edges, chamfered so you don't cut a strap tightening it on there. Make sense?

yep I can do that! I’ll prob pick something between 1 and 1.5 slot length and something around 3/16th width. Once you order though you have to let me know it’s you so I don’t ship it without the slot.

Well, since it's my birthday on Sunday, I went ahead and treated myself. Order #1005

One thing to note, your shipping system has a hard requirement for "Apartment, Suite no, etc" - you may want to disable that as a required field, it really slowed down my ability to use Paypal checkout until I realized I had to put N/A (or really anything) into the box to continue.

Got it delivered late last night (later than UPS normally is, but that's life) - and it's been raining all morning. So I just took some glamour/proof shots before I go about installing it. I'm real happy with this, good, solid welds, good bend on the upper support arms, the slot you milled is chamfered beautifully smooth, and my small utility straps fit.

Good news, bad news. Good news is, I found a box of 1" wide lashing straps floating around in my motorcycle panniers, so it now has a bright green lashing strap on it (no picture yet). Bad news, I am pretty certain that it won't fit on the rail where I want it to and it might have to go up front, which only works if I'm not running my tonneau at all. The reason for this is I use an Extang Solid three section folder tonneau, and it needs the rail clips up front for the retention hooks to grab. That takes up space behind the wheel on the mounting bracket, which is where this holder wants to be mounted. Due to the mounting hole locations, that might not be possible, so I may need to either drill new mounting holes (which I don't want to do), or buy a Bakflip style tonneau ($1,000, not ready to do yet).

Once I pull the sand rack out of my bed, I'll check more thoroughly, it's still raining outside and I'm not wanting to stand in it. Just wanted to give my initial impressions. I promise I'll give more detailed feedback, probably tomorrow, if the sun comes out in Ohio before the month is out. :D

keep me in the loop! Ps it takes literally seconds to drill new holes because it’s aluminum FYI. I want to believe it will fit with your tonneau cover! Keep me updated. Every tonneau cover is different!
