I have owned both the 4cyl and 6cyl with the same options (4wd, 5spd, XTRA cab), the same mods (2-3" lift, 32" BFG AT tires, ARB bar, cap in winter), and the same mileage (145-155k) and the V6 gets better mileage now than the I4 did. 20-22 vs 17-19 mpg.

    Just my experience.

I had a 4cyl and I now got a 6cyl. They get similar mpg. But stating this I do live in the mountains. The 4cyl used to be screaming going up some of these hills where I live. The 6cyl has a much easier time pulling these hills.

My 97 w/ 2.7L got nearly 24 mpg hwy when I bought it w/ 50K mi. 450 mi on one tank. Now w/ 166K mi it's down around 18 mpg. I use cruise control a lot and that does help.

    Too few to list.
Check out my (gen 1) fuelly but that's mostly hwy miles. I do however have about 308 miles currently on the odometer and i guess about 17-18 gallons used so about 17-18 miles to a gallon on about 90 percent city driving.

So I just got gas since my gas light was on, 316.6 miles and 16.441 gallons yields to 19.26 with mostly city driving.
