there is essentially a $5000 difference between the four-door and the cheapest 4Runner. That is a huge problem.

Because they’re too expensive. The dealers are already discounting them $5000 to $8000.

i’m not even going to start how a Mexican built truck costing more than a Japanese made SUV makes no sense.

I can think of several reasons:
    1) Less real-world OR capability due to increased wheel base, width and weight.
    2) Payload was vastly overstated by Toyota pre-launch. Expectations were high and what was delivered weighs 500lbs more than the outgoing model with little additional payload.
    3) Price/value. If you went from 2023 3G to 2024 4G, you basically had zero inflation on durable goods, yet a 20% price increase.

Yeah....you logic is sound with the exception that the USMCA has a minimum wage of $16 and Tacomas have been produced in Mexico since 2005 or so.

Yeah and the fact that a US Toyota employee hasn't made $15/hr in decades but let's not let the facts get in the way here of this discussion.

Not sure about hating anything I don’t own or has never done me wrong; however, I am glad my 2020 3G is running strong, and I hope to get many more miles out of it.

When the time does come for a new truck, I will also be giving both the Chevy ZR2 and Ford Ranger Raptor a good look before making a purchase decision.
