First of all, I hardly used the 4wd except the occasional beach trip. The truck is in amazing condition and runs/drives smooth. As the title states, I can engage 4H easily while stopped and while driving. The issue is that 4L doesn't engage. It just continues to blink and doesn't go solid indicating that it is engaged.

Will it eventually work itself into engaging the more I continue to try and use it? Any ideas to help troubleshoot would be extremely appreciated.

Read the manual it had steps for how to engage 4L.

I think it was brake, Clutch then flip the switch. For me if it fails to engage, I need to Put it back to 4H or 2WD, and try again.

You have to be in 4h then in neutral to goto 4l. If you have a mt, the clutch has to be fully depressed.

Forgive me if you already know this, but you'll need to be in neutral (while in 4H) to engage 4L.

to get into 4lo you must be solidly in 4hi (no blinking lights). Then once in 4hi, slow to a speed under 3mph (usually easiest to stop completly), if you are an auto put in Neutral (if manual, push that clutch ALLLLL the way to the floor) then flip to 4lo.

Thanks for all of the help fellas. It's an automatic. Considering all steps are properly followed and for some reason it doesn't engage, how do I troubleshoot this problem? Could it be an actuator problem even though 4H is engaging?

I have to turn the steering wheel and roll a bit sometimes for 4lo to engage
