My couch is also sitting at 9-11' from screen. In 2020 I bought an LG 70"

It... feels right. I say go big.

None at all. I'm the type of person who would get slightly annoyed at the movie theater because I felt that when the action was going on in one corner of the screen, I was missing some detail on the other end. The whole "move your head to constantly scan the screen" bit.

I don't feel that way at all about the 70". It's big, but I can still take in the entire screen without having to dart my eyes around. I find it to be a comfortable size. Combine it with a basic 5.1 surround and it immerses you nicely.

Still having a hard time envisioning that, probably just because I am not used to it. I cut out a piece of cardboard sized 65 TV and stare at it, eyeballs to screen 9', and looks big. Its kind of hard to picture a piece of cardboard with motion haha.

Have you gone to a store and checked them out lately? You might measure off 9' from a display TV and see how it feels.

    updating the thread.
I went 65" LG OLED. I am glad i went 65, seems right at 8-10 ft. The OLED display itself has been an adjustment. Picture is good, but just so used to the brightness of an LCD that my mind is saying it should be brighter, but im not struggling to see it.

    OLEDs are amazing, great buy!

if you have not done so check out www.rtings.com to see the review of your TV and how to adjust it to get the best picture from it. OLEDs are usually pretty good new but there are subtle settings tweaks you can do to refine the picture.
