Are you coming to a complete stop and shifting the transmission into neutral before shifting the transfer case into 4 low?

I'm assuming you have the stock e-locker, what is it doing that you think it has a hard time engaging?

very common and you may be doing nothing wrong. definitely click into neutral fully when engaging and disengaging, and some need to forward-reverse a bit especially to disengage the locker. it can take a little time. it's one reason some prefer to upgrade to an air locker, for instant on-off.

Thanks guys. I think it was not in neutral all the way. I find myself forgetting the neutral and realizing it and just stays caddy-whamp. It's still sensitive but cleaned up. I like to old-school shifter. 4runners get all the easier shit.
