Your still not providing enough information. Did you put the truck in 4Lo then attempt to return the truck to 2H?

I'm thinking that you didn't properly return to 2H.

All of this information is in both English and French printed on the sun visor(your French Canadian I do believe French is on the flip side of the visor)

What should happen is you switch to 4H then you stop the truck get to neutral switch to 4Lo then the 4Lo light comes on and stays on. If you get beeping it didn't engage. Then you stop the truck turn the dial from 4Lo to 2H. If engaged properly you shouldn't see any 4Lo lights at all.

Stop the truck and follow the instructions printed on the visor. You do not want to go highway speeds in 4Lo. If you have no beeping your in 4Lo still the truck is telling you its still in 4Lo.

First you need to confirm are you in 4Lo or not? Even if the switch is on 2Hi the truck may not be. In 4Lo the truck should easily move down the road in drive also you'll be very high revving on the tach around 2500 or more even at just 25mph. If this is the case stop the truck and follow the instructions on the visor. When you try make sure the trucks front wheels are straight sometimes they can be fickle about that.

If on the other hand you have not recently used 4Lo in that case it could be another issue here's s thread on that https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4-wheel-drive-blinking-indicator-light.197091/

Are at an insanely high RPM like nearly red lining? If so then your probably in 4Lo if not and your RPM is normal (about 2000 @60mph) and you are in 2Hi and there is probably an issue with either the 4WD switch or one of the sensors.

I assume that you are probably having a switch or sensor issue as I think most people would really notice the engine speed at highway speeds in 4Lo

Or try just cycling from 2Hi to 4Hi and back should make the 4Lo light go away temporarily at least.

Look at that thread link might give you some ideas.

In that case you probably are having an issue with the switch or one of the sensors. So it thinks its in 4Lo when its not.

So the 4Lo light flashes when the switch is in 2Hi? I'd say based on that thread link its either the switch or a sensor. In that thread some guys said they cleaned them out themselves. Guess you can try that and if you've got the know how check the sensors.

Aren't the transfer case position sensors just open/closed contacts? If so, you could just unplug the 4lo sensor and see if the blinking goes away to test the switch.
