i forgot to ask if your auto or manual. you have to give it some gas. you cant just let your foot off the clutch/brake

you actually have to "try" to move.

If you aren't an Off Road, there is a longer delay for the limited slip to engage. The Off Road 4WDs (2009+) have a hydraulic brake booster to power the A-TRAC. This must also be why our TRAC in H4 and AUTO LSD in H2 work almost instantly and not the long lag such as I have seen in the videos of the non-Off Roads, with the Yellow Wire Mod...??

How long and at what RPM did you gas it while on jack stands?

    to reiterate

it actually wont kick in unless you hit the gas as well. maybe to prevent stalling? idk but not only is it delayed you actually have to try

Thanks guys ....you've nailed it. I didn't give it any throttle, for I feared it would LAUNCH off the jacks !

But I tried it again in 4 Lo .....went up to 3K and nothing.....but in 4 Lo it tried to go at about 2K so that's a very good thing.

Actually I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't get violent and jump off !
But I could definitely tell it was working.

YWM is next.....I'm sure it will succeed  !!!

    Thanks again.....Love my TACO !

Worked as advertised......the easiest, quickest and best performance Mod I've done so far.

Initially I thought I needed to pull the plug connector to be able cut the wire and heat shrink it .....not, plenty of room to do the job.

Thanks all for your guidance and patience !

Yes....I wanted to pre test the Mod to confirm it did work. I had the truck jacked up but I didn't know you needed to gas it to get it to work.

So pre Mod it worked as intended in 4 Hi...but not in 4 Lo ( as designed by Toyota )

Then I performed the Mod.....and it worked in 4 Lo and 4 Hi.

    :)

Great news... I was wondering as well, because you typed: But I tried it again in 4 Lo .....went up to 3K and nothing.....but in 4 Lo it tried to go at about 2K so that's a very good thing."

The second '4 Lo' was really '4 Hi' then... How long until or at what RPM did the limited slip engage?

    I stand corrected....

    It is a manual tranny.

I just went out and tested it again.

    It's idling at around 1200 - 1300 ( cold ) and the Trac engages at 1500~.

So I put it in gear and let out on the clutch and just touch to gas and it tries to move.

    That is great!

Makes you wonder about those here who say the TRAC/ AUTO LSD is no good and they prefer a mechanical limited slip... without even giving the new technology a chance!

Hoping Roland or DavidK can chime in real quick. (asking for an 09 4x4 sport owner)
Would it be beneficial for someone with a 2009 sport 4x4 to do the yellow wire mod? Will it help slower crawl traction in 4low?
SOunds like such a noob question...but I am at work and can't scroll through 20+ pages :p
    TIA

Yes it will help traction. Whatever 09 4x4 Sport owner who hasn't done this is a noob.

I'm a noob and will be getting this done. Thanks Jonny!

Yes... as per the Sport guys! A spinning tire is a waste of energy... a traction tire is pure bliss!
