At the risk of hijacking an old thread, I’d really appreciate direction or links for power window conversion

I have a base 1999 Reg cab 2wd (2.4, 5spd) and I’d like to add on some options.
While my truck has crank windows, I’m wondering what’s the best approach to get power windows (I’ll leave the auto-up/down stuff to you wizards for now).

Seeing as how the later door cards appear to retrofit to earlier first gen, would getting a pair of complete later doors from a yard be a way to also obtain the needed parts (switches, motors) to fit into my door shells?

Thanks, and you may now return to your projects.

    Marc

Yes salvaging from a complete donor power window vehicle would be best if you are trying to go OEM (which is what I would do). One of the complexities is that the wiring harness for the door is all wrapped together, so it’s not as simple as getting just the harness for the power window stuff. @BartMaster1234 did a power window conversion and did a write up on it.
