Bone stock other than new floor mats.
I thought the same thing the first time I saw them. In any event, I would go with the Tacoma as it too can carry 5 full size adults and all your gear.

I like it. I hope they base the new Tacoma off it. Nav, Manual TCase lever, super rigid FJ frame. Id be all over that.

I'm not going for a brand new one. I don't really like those as much.

Grille Guard, Husky Liners, More to come...only got 800miles on it.
I bought a black 07 4x4 loaded out 4runner with 11K on it a few months ago and had some major plans for it. Lift, tires, roof rack, winch etc... I had it a whole wopping week and the wife took it over. So I took her 06 2wd 4run and got me a new 09 Taco Crew Cab. Love both of them. The 4run definitely has a good bit more room in the seating department. The 4run has been avg around 23mpgs around town and 26-27mpg's on the hwy. My Taco is only getting 17-18 in town and 19-20 hwy. 0-60 the 4run will will hang with most mustang Gt's. I can't believe how fast it is and don't ask me how I know. It will walk away from my Taco. Not that I've been racing it or anything. I liked the 4run a lot but I'm really a truck guy. Now that hunting season is here I'm glad I got have a truck. Just makes more sense for me. Plus I can still jump in the wifes and take it wheelin if I want to. Kind of have the best of both worlds. I looked real hard at getting a lid or cap for my truck. I ended up with a low pro tool box. I wanted a long bed but I wanted a locker more so bed space is sparse in the sb box with the tool box.

    Buy anything yet?

It'll come down to what you want. Covered carpeted storage or the box for wet/dirty things. Either way they're both great choices.

I have an 04 4Runner V8 4x4 and an 05 Taco AC 4x4 and they're both great. The V8 is so smooth and powerful and it's ride is much softer/smoother, but the Taco is so peppy and the box is handy to have too.

It's all to personal choice or preference, you'll be happy either way.
