I'm really sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere on here. I normally fancy myself as a proficient Googler, but for the life of me I couldn't find any info on anyone else doing the same swap (which might be for a reason, I dunno). Also, I'm assuming this is the right place to post this, or else I wouldn't be posting it here, but I apologize if it's not.

So onto the preface and question:

I replaced the awful (imo) chrome grill that came with my MGM 2017 SR5 with a TRD Pro grill, and I also replaced the chrome rear bumper end caps with matte black ones. My matte black badges should be coming in the mail any day. I wanted to get black wheels to match everything else and I've considered all kinds of options. I think the SCS ray10's look mighty sharp, but I don't know that I'm a $1000 rim kind of guy. I considered getting my stock wheels powder-coated, but it just seemed like a headache and I'm not so sure I would like them even if they were matte black and matched the rest of the accents. I decided that I (like many others, apparently) really like the 4Runner TRD Pro wheels, so I started shopping around and pricing those. I called my local Toyota dealership that just recently opened and lo and behold they had a set of the TRD Pro wheels with the Nitto Terra Grapplers that they had just taken off of some guy's new 4Runner. I guess he wanted a different setup. Anyway, the guy quoted me at $723 for the 4x wheels and tires, all brand new. That's super hard to beat as far as I'm concerned, especially considering those tires would be around $630 just by themselves.

tl;dr: Got offered a sweet deal on 4x new 4Runner TRD Pro wheels with Nitto Terra Grapplers

Now, on to the question that I really need help with:

Can I put these new wheels and tires on my 2017 SR5 Tacoma with stock suspension without any rubbing? Will this be a 'Plug-N-Play' swap?

My current setup is stock 245/75r16 with (if I understand correctly) a offset of 25mm

The new setup would be 265/70r17 with (if I understand correctly) an offset of 4mm

Both wheels should be 7" wide I believe.

That's a difference of 21mm (almost an inch, I believe) on the offset, on top of the already slightly larger tire size. I'm concerned they won't fit, but I really am not sure. I'm trying to learn all this as I go. It's kind of daunting. Any help is greatly appreciated. I hope someone on here has some insight on this particular issue.

They should fit but you might need different lug nuts. I'm not sure what style lugnuts come with the SR5 but my OR alloy wheel lug nuts were a direct swap. If you have steel or acorn style lug nuts you'll need to change them out.

My truck with the 4runner Pro wheels and 265/70/17 Nitto TG..20180929_165615.jpg 20180929_165526.jpg

If you have the fender trim moldings like I do the tires will be flush with them.

The only other variable would be the front air valence, my truck never came with one but some trucks with a 265/70/17 tire MIGHT rub on that.

Hey, thanks man! I really appreciate the help. That's a sharp looking truck you've got there, and that's good info on the lug nuts. I'm pretty sure mine are the same as yours, so they oughta work. Mine has the fender trim moldings as well. That's good to know they'll be flush, and that gives me a good frame of reference for what to expect. My truck did come with the front air dam, but I removed that pretty quickly after purchasing the truck. I'm a function-over-form man most of the time, but I just didn't like the look of that thing.

Those wheels and tires looks sweet. I'm stoked. I'll be getting mine on tomorrow. I know a lot of people apparently have those wheels, and although there is something to be said for originality, at the end of the day if I think some looks cool, I think something looks cool. I'm not going to base my taste on whether other people do or do not share the same aesthetic. A lot of people choose to go with that look for a reason: it's a good look.

Thanks again for the help and input! I really appreciate it.

    You're welcome.

It might seem like alot of people here run the 4runner Pro wheels but in real life, not so much. I've only seen a small handful of tacomas running those wheels and I see A LOT of Tacos in my area.

I've been running them since Feb 2016 and they've been a great wheel, one of the best factory wheels I've seen.

I've been real happy with the Terra grapplers too, decent price, Good in the sand, dirt, highway and snow but not great in the mud however. I had 45k miles on my first set then swapped them to another set only bigger, 285/70/17 this time. I've been very happy with these tires.

Good luck and thanks for the compliment on my truck, post yours up when you get it finished.

How did this work out for you? Thinking of doing the same with my SR5.
