Hello had a quick question for someone more knowledgeable than I.

I ordered an AC compressor with clutch from a dealership website using my vin number. The part says it was a correct fit for my vin but I received an email today saying that it wasn’t the right part and that it was for an 03 and previous Tacoma and fit all v6 4runners. My truck is an 04 v6 and was wondering if this is some sort of mistake or if my engine and compressor are different from the rest. The part number for the compressor is 88310-35720-84. Thanks in advance.

95.5 to 04 tacoma are the same IIRC, including 4R. T100 is different even though it's a 5vz as well.

That’s what I thought. It seemed to me the only difference between the options was the price. The “correct” part is apparently over $100 more. I’m more tempted to go with a $180 denso off rock auto now than spend $500 on a Toyota part. Thanks for the help

Lots of folks, including myself, have great experience with Denso brand.

That’s what I ended up with. Sub $200 vs over $500 is reason enough to go with it in my opinion. I think it’ll be just fine. Thanks again
