No, I haven’t. Thanks, I’ll check it out.

I am a vendor to Toyota and appreciate that it treats customers, suppliers, dealers, employees and investors with the same respect, in the genuine belief that what goes around comes around.

I feel like a used Landcruiser or GX is a better deal than a brand new 4runner.

Once my kids are older, I am going to swap my Sienna for a Landcruiser.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Translation = the 5th Gen T4R is 1000% better than the 3rd Gen Tacoma Highlander

Last year, I rented a new one on a trip to SoCal. Did a trip to San Diego from Huntington. It was really nice, I was surprised. No problem keeping up with SoCal traffic. Had some suv rentals in SoCal that sucked. I really liked the seating and seating position. Daughter commented she liked the back seat. I drove it like I stole it and got decent MPG. One of the only suv’s the rear window goes down. I almost bought one instead of a Tacoma but got a better deal on the truck. Still might buy a matching one “cement”.

Last trip I had a Q60. It was really nice. Driving the 4 runner was more fun.

I have a ‘10 Limited 4R with 160k miles. It’s been bulletproof. The only issue I’ve had (in 9 years) was the driver’s side door lock actuator failing, which I fixed for $20. First set of tires lasted me 80k.

It rides nicer and is more comfortable then my ‘19 TRD Pro taco. May explain why my pro only has 450 miles on it lol

    My Wife has a 2017 4Runner limited (2wd)
If any thing happens to my Tacoma I will replace it with a 4Runner SR5 4x4.

I've owned both. I prefer the Tacoma. My 2017 rides like a truck, but no vibrations.

Comfort is always relative. Yeah, the 4runner is more composed on road. But, compare it to a luxury SUV or a cross over and on-road manners may not seem terribly off from the taco. In other words the 4R rides also like a truck (lots of body roll and lack of precision steering). Not that there is anything wrong with that. Good luck OP

    Wife owns a 4th Gen 4R. I have a 3rd Gen Taco.

Comfort: 4R wins. Softer suspension, power seats, the seats themselves also seem a little bigger and hug the body more than the "flat" taco seats. Also, more legroom in the back. I added heated leather seat covers (Clazzio) to the taco and it's more comfortable now but still doesn't beat the 4R.
Also, is it just me or are the pedals closer and steering wheel further away on the Taco. I feel like I have to angle my legs and overreach with stretched out arms to drive sometimes.

Practicality: For an everyday person that doesn't haul the 4R is enough. 95% of the time my Tacos flat bed is unused. I hope to change that when I get a lockable topper.

MPG: About the same. Same tires on both and my Taco marginally has better fuel economy (.5mpg-1mpg).

Durability: I have replaced suspension, tires, had wheels aligned, carrier bearing drop (for small lift) and somehow the Taco still vibrates at 60ish MPH. 55k miles. Powertain, I don't think I'll have problems with it, but the vibration issue is annoying and may cause larger underlying problems if unaddressed. It's so bad sometimes I can see my bed shake in the rear view mirror. Only oil changes, tires, and alternator on the 4R so far.

Guys thanks for all the information.

    Just left with this beauty.

2019 TRD Off Road, I got a steal of a price for it at 35.5K.

They also gave me a decent price on my trade.

I really wanted to love my taco but every week it seemed to ride worse and worse. Was tired of driving it 30 miles every week to the dealership for them to try and "fix" it.

    Thanks again everyone

Enjoy It! I am lucky enough to own both. They both have their short comings but at the end of the day they are truly some of the best rigs in the current market for the money. Pic of my turds below :). Only thing I would trade them out for is a 70 series...:spending:

Nice. Yeah I love it so far. It's truly amazing how much smoother the engine/trans is compared to the Taco I traded. Feels a lot more refined.
