    Pretty much stock right now
I swapped the steel 16 in rims on my 01 with the 15 in wheels from my 00 which was headed back to Toyota for 2 reasons: the tires on the 01 were worn out, and the coopers on the 00 were nearly new. These wheels look better than the steeles. Not sure if it didn't screw up the speedometer though.

In conclusion, 15s with wheel spacers will work?

No spacers on my wheels. They fit without them.

They are on my 01. It is a 2.7, auto, 4wd. It's my understanding that the 01-04s are compatible in this regard, but I have not tried them on my 03.

the 15's came with the Tacoma. the 16's came with the 4runner. they are both 4.5" back spacing and should work on all Tacoma models up til 2005.
