4th Annual Black Mountain Fall Meet , with 2-1/2 days of rain, but still VERY fun!

We aim to get there before lunch thursday, set up camp, build a fire, and get comfortable.....fix dinner and enjoy being away from "the big city".

I've spent a fair bit of time planning a route for Saturday. It includes a good bit of red trails that I know MOST of the "mildly built" trucks (and brave stockers) can handle. We've got a few showing up that can do far more than others. I figure we'll break into 2 groups at some point. Those guys don't want all green/blue, and many of us aren't quite up to all red/black.

Long story short....I'm ready to do this! Gonna be more like years 1 and 2.

BTW, may have a Toyota Sequoia as this years "unusual vehicle". (Filling in for Nissan Titan of last year!)

 

I’d like some red for sure but no no black at all! And I only have stock skids but I do have sliders

 

Anyone leaving Thursday morning who would like to meet up? I’m coming from western ky

 

No black for me either....I'm getting more and more careful as I go forward. We'll have a couple mostly stock vehicles too. Can't punish them. I'm just looking for something different and a little more challenging.

We'll be rolling south from Mt Washington on thursday sometime before lunch. Some variable in when we'll leave. Has to do with getting dog in kennel.

Cool part about Harlan is alot of the hard stuff offshoots the main trails and joins back up. Great for mixed groups. I'm down for whatever, just want to take a stab at whitetail crawl and the rock gardens.

 

I'll be arriving friday a little before noon. Is there GPS cords to the exact campsite area we will be at and were reservations supposed to have been made?



Oh and are there facilities like showers toilets ect.?

Gps coords below. Basically, enter from putney side, get your camping and permit in the office, then go on up the hill. You'll get to some big cabins on the right and a path to the left that continues up the hill, follow it past campground 2 on the left, and then take the next road to the left you come to (it's covered at the bottom of the map below, but you get the idea), which will be kind of a u turn up a hill to the campsite. I believe it also has a sign.

 

The dude in the office is super helpful as well, you will find it easily.
