Lol at least I didn't make that list.

Alright, so me and a couple other guys are going to be heading to Harlan the 27-29 of this month if anyone nearby wants to come or whatever then cool. I'll do another update on the trail going up from the Putney side.

Also, I called a few days ago to reserve 2 spots with electric and they're full. Only spots open now are primative. So if no one has reserved a spot/campground yet @Bluegrass Taco may be worth checking in on and seeing if anyone who would need electric is able to get a spot. All cabins are also full. They've been saying a lot busier this year compared to years past.

    @MedlinAround you can't un'sub from this.

I heard the trail was graded a couple weeks ago. 3rd hand info, so not sure how accurate.

Cabins need to be reserved at minimum, 6 to 8 months in advance. I've got my name on one for the meet weekend, but dont plan on staying there...will "unreserve" ahead of time when I see for sure we wont be using it. I put my name on it LAST October while we were there. If we decline it, already have someone else in line to take it....

Camping (for this group) is in campground #3. (Primative) The event dates were posted months in advance for anyone who needed/wantedto reserve spots.

This has been (previous 3 years) a non electric group/event!

10-4 man I just figured I'd throw that out there. For the most part, it's been easy in the past to call last minute pretty much and get a spot or whatever as long as it wasn't during a big event or something.

Lots of groups doing fall meets. They sell out quick. Fall Crawl the week before mine is packed already for NEXT year.

Yup. There's a small group I'm probably going with for fall crawl and we've had the same spots for a long time. Mainly because when you get them, you keep them or you don't get back in for a while.

I MIGHT be able to sneak away on the 28th/29th weekend for a quick single day ride at Harlan. Love the place. I wanna spend some time "mapping" for the fall meet. I've got a few favorite sections, but need to link 'em together into a full day on the move.

Hell yeah, right on. And yeah, one easy/takes a day ride is go up from Putney and head straight over (don't have a map handy so can't tell you trail numbers but pappys pass is right through for some looking for a little more challenge) and up to the white tail campground (there's a look out that's not marked over that way) then come back down towards the Evarts side.

You've got the gift shop/sign in place there along with a portajohn and they usually have firewood piled up at the side to if you need it.

Go up from there to the water fall and the rock garden, then up towards malfunction junction. You've got mason jar, lions den, and a few others right through there with easy trails going out to 4 poles look out and the gold fish pond that can make a long loop back to malfunction junction or down to mason jar and stuff.

That gives you options for hard and technical trails and mud holes and pits you won't find the bottom of to play in also all on easy going trails.

With a big group, smaller tight trails can be a pain to pass on but those all have pretty good pull off spots or connector trails to bypass on.

Edit: Also, @Bluegrass Taco if you think you'd be able to make it down for a day, I'll probably have room in the back of the runner if you'd like to ride with us or whatever.

Those trails are some of my regulars....just gotta link em up instead of my random roaming route.

Crazy about pappies pass. That's my kind of trail!

Safe bet that if I drive down, I'll be driving the trails too. Appreciate the offer though....

Definately wanna connect with y'all if I can make it.

Plan is to build a "loop", maybe 6 to 7 hours worth , then add 3 or 4 hours of side trails. Then create a map for a possible poker run.

Right on man! I'll help you anyway I can. I've been on most of the trails and the few I haven't, I've either spotted on or rode shotgun on.

I have this dream of someday turning the fall meet into a group gathering that doubles as a fund raiser for one of several charities I favor. I've been in the hobby for 45 years. Would like to give something back to it and do some good with it. Might not be THIS year, but soon.....

Double like on that one man! I've been thinking about setting up something along those lines to. I'm up for it!
