These are all the engines I have.

The tender on the right, the Chessie and the Penn steam locomotive are all Lionel. The Norfolk Souther is a K-line, and the Santa Fe is a Knock off MTH something (the Lionel Santa Fe is rediculously expensive).

I also have about 30 different cars. Tankers, hoppers, boxes, 3 cabooses.

There are also two Trolly cars (back and forth) that are packed up.

Model trains are fun to collect and set up if you have the room for it. In our old house, I had two tracks on a shelf going around my sons room. I just need to build it around his room in the new house.

That's an amazing set! When did you start collecting? I really wish I was raised on Lionel / O gauge. My parents started me on G gauge. That first engine and two car set that once upon a time 6 year old me opened on Christmas day, is reserved strictly for tree duty now. A few choice pieces from the rest of the collection stay in the 3rd bedroom.

Damn, now I really should have gotten that tree set out. :(

13 years ago is when it started for me (when my son was born). My dad was/is a train buff. He started it. He has always been a train person. He bought my son the first set, tracks and all ( the Penn steam loco from the picture). We built a track shelf around my sons bedroom when he was almost 1yr old. I had two tracks on that shelf, one in each direction. I have some videos somewhere. Good times.
I had dedicated shelves, just like yours, set up in my old house for the engines that were not running. I need to get on it and build the whole setup in his room again. He’s 13 now (and too cool for that, but not really).

I’m stoked about it. There are two places in his room where we can build suspended bridges from the ceiling. We/I just need to do it. He grew up loving trains, and still does.

Oh yeah. My dad has some serious stuff.
Lionel Santa Fe with three engines
Several other locos that talk back to the station
    All kinds of crazy stuff.
The train track shelf in his bedroom is a triple track (3 trains).

I would love to do that. Current house is an old home with tiny bedrooms. Too small to run a shelf I think unless I run a tunnel through both guest rooms.:sawzall: Mine was designed for garden layouts and I had a nice loop in the backyard of my previous house. Unfortunately running it outdoors plays hell on the motors and electric pickups, and after 35+ years of chases, races, train robberies and soldiers blowing up bridges, the trains deserve an indoor life from now on.

    It's tempting though. Very tempting.

Been decorated over a week now...

This tree is almost twelve years old and some of the lights are out, and also some branches are missing; Might be time for a new one!

    Any more last minute addtions?

    :santa:

I'm just sitting on the couch in the living room enjoying the tree while the wife and daughters make snicker doodles in the kitchen and A Christmas Story is on in the background in the den.

I’ve been holding off on my Christmas village because the Lowry Hill Apartments is burned out...

Got it all set up on the dining room table though! Will take pics when I get home from church!
