Ok guys so I'm contemplating getting a truck bed tent for this trip and others like it, but I'm thinking maybe I should just get a regular tent for the wife and I to sleep in... But I don't kno the camping area is it tent friendly or is it really rocky? Would I be better off in the bed?

tent friendly. wind will be our biggest nemesis out there. its mostly sandy dirt.

The camp site where we're thinking about going to, should be tent friendly because it's next to the dunes so the ground should be softer and the wind less (hopefully). I always carry some sort of pad regardless, whether it be a nice REI auto inflate pad or your average pool mattress.

So you're saying he's accident prone?

...Yeah come on over to the meet, don't worry it's mostly sand!

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
If the truck is back from DMZ I'll be giving it a shake down run with you guys! If not I'll be sitting at work looking at another fun TW trip I didn't make it to.

So calm you can sit 360 on the fire. Not as many beers as I would like, Reagan started riding her quad by herself. That took some time away from the beer drinking to make sure she was on point
