Looks pretty cool! 15hp and 25 torques

The "estimated" ship date is sketchy coming from Summit Racing, I'd try to find it somewhere else. I've had to drive to their Georgia store every time I've ordered from them because they mess up the order (3 times)

Once I had to drive there twice because they f'd it up twice in a row.

    Super stupid people there

    I'm a glutton for punishment!

These experiences were years apart and I had hoped they learned to do better.

    They never did

    Even K&N isn't shipping yet

Interesting that they leave the factory grille intake duct in place. Might not suck in as much hot air if you added more foam / rubber under the hood to isolate the entire filter surround to only pull in from the grille.

I'll let one of you guys try it out first and report back your findings. :D

The last time I installed one of these in a 2001 Corolla, it did provide a noticeable increase in pep, but it also placed the intake low into the wheel well. Got stuck at work one afternoon when the roads flooded after a heavy rain. Eventually got brave and followed my fellow sedans through the high water. Sucked water into the intake and flooded the engine. Had I stuck with the stock intake, would have never happened.

It will suck warmer air vs the factory setup. I’m waiting for STILLEN or may just get the TRD box.

Yep less HP and less Torque when it’s sucking hot air..why do you think they put cold air intercoolers on turbo engines

You can easily balance the hot air compression issue with a slow drip of NOS. Not a big deal.

That's a great idea. I'm assuming you keep the big box in the bed, and have a hose running from the box to the intake, yes?;)

Your are absolutely correct... Nothing cold air about them. You will be sucking hot air from your engine compartment. K&N filters are great for external engine application. Sure, you can use them on standard vehicles, but I wouldn't, imho. If you run the pluming outside - say behind the grill, then go for it. Also, cleaning and re-oiling the filter should be done with care. Too much oil on the filter and you will compromise the mass air sensor. I've seen it happened. Not sure why Toyo would even recommend them for the TRD, just because of the cleaning process.

And the MAF getting oiled, and that the intake air is already sent through the inter-cooler, and a little dust never hurt anything but I digress...
