I’m just thrilled it looks like the access cab will live on. I was sure it would be killed off with the fourth gen.

In silhouette, the proportions and height remind me of a Dodge Dakota.....:(

Also, I don't buy the May 19 reveal date for the Tacoma. That's a Friday and I would think from a press / marketing perspective it would be better to release it earlier in the week. :notsure:

Maybe ARB will release more info on their accessories on that date?

Weird. Well there goes up in smoke all my marketing and press release knowledge. :bananadead:

Yep, and the fuel tank is several inches lower, just like 4Runners today. People screaming for a lower floor, rear seat legroom, coil springs, fully boxed frame... this is the casualty.

The panhard bar takes up room :notsure:

I'm excited for the new Tacoma and the new mods for it. I hope it turns out to be tunable if turbos are part of the engine setup.

For some reason I'm just not that excited for this. I think it's the realization that price wise, I won't be able to justify a TRD OR. They are already too loaded up with gadgets I don't care about. Plus, it looks really low slung like a Silverado.

I remain open-minded but I am having similar feelings. The long-overdue interior updates are going to be great (excluding a removable bluetooth speaker on the dash...lame), and no doubt the engine will fall in line with the recent Tundra and Sequoia offerings, but the silhouettes of the body are a bit discouraging so far. I hate the large blocky front redesign of the Tundra and these teaser shots seem to suggest a similar theme on a low-riding chassis. Meh...we'll see...

They could have bought a Ram if that's what they wanted.

Nailed how I feel too. And trying not to be "that guy" who hates anything new, I was one of the first with a turd gen in fall 2015 and was super excited for it. This one for some reason has me looking lovingly on my 2022.

I'm on the fence now. I haven't had a truck payment in like 3 years and am kind of enjoying it lol. I am curious to see what the next Taco has to offer, but with current prices, eh, I'm in no rush.

I did go past a GMC dealer today and they had a new Canyon sitting out front in that gold color, it looked really good, so at least when the time does come to trade in, there should be tons of options unlike when I bought in '16.

I don't know about lovingly looking at my truck, but the fact my '17 only has 77k miles and works fine makes trading in a hard sell. I'm wanting to see the new drivetrains more than anything. The low, long look of the teases and their similarity to the Tundra have me not so excited.

I dont know I just love 3rd gens, unlike many here, and I loved my 2nd gens too. I've tried to let the new Tundra grow on me, but 2 years in and still not digging it. Hopefully the new Tacoma isnt a mini clone with some extra gee whiz features like the JBL removable speaker.

Was anti-new and was a 1st Gen hold out for 20 years, until I finally broke down and bought a new 3rd Gen. Now looking forward to the 4th Gen, love my 3G, but have some minor gripes with it, looks like the 4G will fix those, boxed frame, linked rear, and finally an engine with some low end torque, and power. Know people love to blast down the highway or race stop light to stoplight, however be good for guys like me who like to drive slow, sounds weird, but like to cruise under 2000 rpm and not scream the engine. Be great for when it is loaded down towing a camp trailer. Probably give it a year before I decide to buy one, or step up to a Tundra or 1 Ton, and give my wife the 3G.

As for it being low slung, nothing a lift wouldn’t fix. Amazing that you can get a factory lift now, lifting was heavily frowned on not all that long ago, as it would void the warranty. There are Tundras at our local dealer sitting on 37s, guessing the new Taco will fit 35s with minor mods. The massive grill on the Tundra is a bit absurd, the boxy-ness is growing on me, if the Taco is a mini version of that wouldn’t mind. Judging by the teasers, the grill won’t be as ridiculous as the Tundra. If it is, nothing a winch bumper wouldn’t cure. Tundra looks a hell of a lot better ditching the stock bumper. Swore I wouldn’t kit out my 3G out like my 1G, but even my wife asked when I am going to put some real bumpers on it.
