Are you the first person in TW with one?

 

No MT for the Pro... uncertainty with the 4cyl iForce engine (I'm not one to be the first on the trial phase of the first ever release wave)... looks good, but I'm content with my 23'.

 

I honestly have no idea.

 

The “new” turbo engine has been used ina handful of other Toyota/Lexus vehicles since 2021.

 

Toyota has stated only half of the parts in the Tacoma 2.4 are shared with the engines in those other applications. This is very much a new engine. That doesn't mean it won't be durable or reliable, but no one knows that for certain, including Toyota.

It comes down to how Toyota will handle problems if they do arise. Will they quickly improve design/manufacturing? Will they take care of existing owners, or just future buyers? I'm okay with a manufacturer making a mistake here and there so long as they make it right for ALL customers.

 

It also depends on the buyers' willingness to follow the maintenance schedule by Toyota . The owner has a responsibility to maintain their vehicle.

Congrats on the truck...that is a whole lotta distributor installed stuff on there. Just a heads up, that spray in bed liner they are making you pay for will probably crack...they tried that trick on the Tundra and it does not work very well on a composite bed....totally just a money maker for them.

 

$4K worth of accessories and protection packages seems a bit excessive.

 

Don't let these guys s on your new ride man, your money, you're trading in a budget rig if I'm remembering correctly, nobody knows your circumstances or finances, fun to be first to the playground, enjoy the f out of it. I don't think anyone is getting a 2024 this month without paying some sort of markup, at least you get a few toys for the extra $'s.
