Anyone in this thread thinking of lifting your truck? If so, please share thoughts. I'm totally new to this so any thoughts on component packages are appreciated.

I plan to somewhat level mine out with Bilstein 5100s on #2 which should give me ½ to ¾" rake. I read on a thread that 3"+ lifts have caused issues with cruise control or other sensors, although these can be calibrated through Toyota. I plan to talk with Toyota when I am ready to level mine after the OEM tires wear down some. My suspicion is that 2.5" or lower may be fine due to Toyota offering that lift range from the factory.

Be cautious lifting SR5s. The CVs are slightly different from Offroad models. Some detail here:

That won't be an issue with me I think as I'm only planning on going 2.5 max. The OEM lift kit comes with longer axles from the front, would that affect the CV's?

If the OEM kit comes with longer axles, then it would replace your current CVs anyway. I dont know much detail on the OEM lift. Its a bit too pricey for my liking, so I havent looked into it much.

I had Bilstein 5100s on my '14 before swapping to Fox, and liked the way the 5100s rode. Plus these 4th gens allow us to commonly fit 285/70/17 tires with no lift, providing the correct offset.

I went all out on my '14 build. I personally plan on a much more simplistic build with this '25.

You need to decide why you want a lift. If it's just for looks, there's no reason not to just do a basic 5100 Balstien lift. The best lift on these trucks right now seems to be the fox and king kits but those run 3-4k. Icon has a kit without UCA's for 2k. I don't really plan to lift the truck as you can fit 33's on these new gens without lifting.

Okay, thanks for that input, gents. I like the Occams Razor approach to what Neutral said. I'll just roll on what I have for now and see how bad I drag on the trails I hit. I have a feeling that the resonator and tailpipe are going to go first!

Regarding your comments, Tacotruck7. The reason I'm thinking of lift kits is that with the 265/65/18 Nittos that came with my Yoda I feel I'm pretty low to the ground for even moderate OR trails. So based on your thoughts, I'm leaning toward just getting bigger tires when my Nittos wear down enough and maybe removing the resonator/tail pipe and putting an axle dump on.

That’s a smart move. I’d see what you need as you go then start modding based on needs. Start with wheels and tires and go from there.

Finally got it out and got it dirty. Got it up to the top of this plateau with steep enough hills to make the wife squeal! I was impressed how fast it shifted from four high to four low, way faster than my third GEN would change . The Factory lift rode well. Very nice ride man!
Did your wheels come with the truck or did you get them post-purchase?

The truck came as pictured. I was test driving a premiumTRD Off Road, and saw this beauty over in the corner of the lot. Great bang for the Buck, the premium didn’t do much for me for the difference in price. This SR5 was optioned out pretty nice anyway, so I once I parked them side by side it was an easy decision!

Sweet. I feel the same about my truck with the exception of the wheels. Southeast Toyota Distributors put pretty looking rims on my ride for too much money, but they have a plastic cover rather than being all metal. I didn't notice until I gave her a bath three weeks in. My dealership wouldn't do jack to make it right. Cheap assed bastards. Can't stand SETD and I'll never buy from that dealership again.

Other than that, Love my SR5!
