A rate like that sounds somewhat like an 'incentivized' rate, and often times would have one available for a shorter term

For instance, I think it was 2.9 or 3.9 that was available for 72 months with the ability to extend to 75, but I opted for 0.9 at 60 months when I got myself a Corvette for my birthday

I'm currently sitting at 820 and I'll never pay any huge mark-ups or dealer market "adjustments".
I just now got my 3rd gem modified the way I want. Maybe in 8 or 10 years after 4th Gen used prices come around Ill be ready.

I've already owned new cars, and many used.

I'll stick to used I own outright.

If it was a 3.0T like the Ranger Raptor, Toyota could have all my money. I'd rather that over a 2.4T Hybrid.

That's exactly what I did. Car payments are not in my plan in any capacity.
It's been lovely not having one for sure.

Local dealer I'm using doesn't have mark up, but holy crap at what the local credit union is offering for interest... wow. 7.5% on anything under 60mo is absurd. Usually they come in less than big companies. Most people don't have the score to get that 3.9% from Toyota o_O

When I bought my 2019, I ran it out 72 months at 3.99 and felt like a schmuck doing it.

I was told to pay cash for depreciating assets and finance items that appreciate in value, if necessary.

My Tacoma, with 19k, has appreciated….on paper anyway.

So, worked out in the end.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

That's laughable; people have gotten incentivized rates from Toyota with as low of a score as a 650

Toyota Financial Services finances damn near everyone; we've had people wanting to trade in their vehicle financed through TFS with a great rate. Pull up their light bureau and wonder...holy shit how'd they get you such a rate with such a score/bureau.

I take it your score or whoever told you that was really low or had a lot of derog on their report.

My score is actually quite good, but I've always gotten better rates from credit unions. Toyota did give me a good rate on an at the time 10 year old Tacoma, so I guess there's that.

That's my point, Toyota gives their best rates even to those with "average" credit worthiness

Contrary to popular belief, credit unions don't always give the best rates :burp:

Or the dealer playing shenanigans. When I was originally trying to buy that truck the rate from Toyota was ridiculous, but the dealer called them and they lowered it substantially. It's a game anymore.

I hope to eventually be like everyone else around here and just pay cash... /s

Toyota has a robust and effective Remarketing process. This allows them to move repo’s through the system efficiently while maximizing resale. I’m sure there’s more to it, but that’s my experience from the wholesale business.

In short; they want to maintain sales numbers so financing is much more lenient

Why do you think you see so many Charger and Challenger Scatpacks out on the road

Damn monthly payments for most of those out there are higher than their credit score
