Yeah 14 mpg is pretty rough for a family hauler.

No way new GX 550 will be as reliable as old GX. Too much tech and using the same 3.5TT as the tundra.

Banks are in it to make money. The longer they keep you in debt the more money they make. They will finance anything. 10k dealer markup….hell yeah. That bank manager is already booking a golf vacation.

My Army buddy moving to Wyoming next month from VA had a hell of a time trying to find decent homeowners insurance. When he started asking why they wouldn’t insure him, the most common response he got was that he was an unnecessary liability. Since he wasn’t going to have a mortgage there was no guarantee that he would pay his premiums like someone that had a lender was required to do to keep their loan.

Bust your ass for 25 years in a combat mos, do everything right to not have debt when you take the uniform off for the last time and because he’s not financing a mortgage get turned down for homeowners insurance.

Yes they will do anything to keep you in debt.

    That...doesn't make sense.

No issue with the home I own outright and having homeowner's insurance on it.

A good amount of leftover 2023 GX , I am tempted in trying to see if a dealership wants to play ball and give me one 20% off msrp.

Good luck most I could get was $3k off a $65k premium and they tried to hose me on trade. I’ll wait till theyre parked next to the 550s.

The common tundra value comparisons here always confuses me. In no universe is a full size truck a better value to me. That's because I'm comparing mid size trucks, that is one of my criteria for comparison.

Like Ridgeline size, which would be a perfect street truck for most people. They can do flat 4x8 sheets in the bed, too.

Although I feel like I would just buy a minivan instead (but I also value enclosed space more for the dog and baby stuff).

If you polled 1,000 people here, how many of them have needed 4’x8’ sheets in the last 3 years?
    5? 50?

Went car shopping with the wife, local Toyota dealer had about 3 Gen4 Tacos. Although two were parked in the service area.

Base this truck out, like mine, and the price difference starts to make more sense. Sticker on my 2019 was $39,007 after Technology Package $770, all weather package $248, mudguards $129. This was the least contented truck on the lot. I’ve taken a lot of liberties with this comparison, that being said, remove the add ons for both trucks and we’re looking at $36,765 vs. $43,400. Adjust for inflation and a complete redesign a $6635 bump makes sense to me.

    With the add-ons $51000.

    Caveats -

I got $4500 cash back at the time at a much lower rate

MSRP on a 2023 is closer to $40,000

Seems difficult getting Gen4’s without a lot of add-ons

    Just comparing based out MSRP’s.
    —————————————————-

I would imagine as these start to flow in, getting less content may become easier.

I thought the truck looked good. The interior looks upscale and also tight. Lots of stuff going on in there.

    Loved the wheels.
