Pallets are really annoying. For plywood and drywall I flip down the bed extender and lay the sheets on top of it and the wheel wells. It works but it’s annoying to have to lift the sheets that much further and they are only supported in a couple spots. You would think that by pushing the wheels further out on the the 4th gen that they could have made the space between the wheel wells wider at the same time.

He probably appreciated having his legs wedged in tight so his head wouldn't hit the roof.

I believe the new Land Cruiser has a straight 6.

Toyota doesn’t make an inline 6 anymore, that’s why they had to join with BMW to make the Supra.

the USDM Land Cruiser will have the same hybrid 2.4T setup that’s available in the 4th gen

I got to see the 2024 Tacoma at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale the other day in their display booth. Black on black in what appears to be a limited trim variant. Of course the vehicle was locked as it's a prototype. :angrygirl:

I don't know what Toyota was thinking with this design. The fender flares are absolutely atrocious and the entire truck has fisher price vibe about it. The other trims I've seen on Youtube are slightly more appealing. I suppose that's all they had available for the show.

Not too far down from the Toyota booth was the Ram/Dodge display booth. They had a Lunar TRX and a handful of hellcat challenger/chargers. The blue stitching on the TRX's interior was really neat. Now that's a real truck.

Damn shame they're killing off the supercharged V8 for a V6 variant.

Anyone else notice the front of the 2024 Tacoma looks a lot like the front of the 2023 Rav4?

That's probably right. All I know is they're dropping 2 cylinders and the supercharger. I didn't bother to research it further.

Yea, I think a few folks will be right behind you.

The market is getting ready to implode. Tesla stock cratered after the bell today. Toyota overpriced these trucks. No way those prices are going to hold up.

The Hemi fanboys are loosing their bowel control. Though an i6 makes more sense for a truck application, really hard to beat how smooth they run.

I suspect the 2024 Tacoma will sit on dealer lots like the new Tundra. 34 trillion in national debt is nothing to sneeze about and it's the highest it has ever been. Something has to give.

All truck guys are the same. Take away 2 cylinders and it’s like you’re giving them a vasectomy. Here’s more power, more torque, better low end pull, and better fuel efficiency.
“But where’s my extra 2 cylinders? It’s what makes me a man!”
    We see it here daily.

Ford kept their I6 alive and well there for awhile in the Australian market (why do they get all the cool stuff?) the later versions were pushing some really good numbers.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Barra_engine

Weird thing is seeing the Tacoma fan boys crying about the loss of V6, I mean….it is a chick truck after all. :) ;) :p Maybe if it had a V8, I could kind of see it, but a V6??? Dunno, never really considered it a manly type of engine. Can get some great power out of a V6, still doesn’t sound like a rip snorting V8, just can’t replicate that thump. That said, I am getting old, quieter the better, find EVs very appealing for that. What is crazy they’ll smoke most ICE engines no problem, won’t even hear it coming.

Toyota returning to a 4 cylinder feels nostalgic to me, like what it should be.

Consumer spending including cars has been up consistently the past few years. I suspect they will sell just as well as any other year.

Maybe; my local dealer has several dozen new Tundra's and can't get rid of them.

The majority of consumer spending is done with credit, which explains why consumer credit card debit is at record levels. :spending:
