That’s an odd comparison. The SxS is for off-roading not commuting.

Pro/Raptor/TRX are not dedicated off-road vehicles, odd to compare them to SxS.

True, if I was into street racing and road tripping wouldn’t pick a truck though. Street racing would definitely be a bike, road tripping would be a van or RV of some sorts, if it is going to get terrible mileage, might as well have a studio apartment attached to it, ya know!?

Halo trucks are nice no doubt, just not my thing. Not really into sports cars either. Though a well built restomod, oh yeah that gets me excited. As they different strokes for different folks.

It’s not a comparison at all. The point is that it’s silly to spend $20, 30 or 50K more for one of those halo trucks than to just buy a normal truck, a trailer and an SxS for your off-road fun. An added bonus is that if you break the SxS you can still get home and to work on Monday.

Are you missing the point where you can buy both a truck and SxS for the money of these halo trucks?

2023 TRD OR was 41K (46K with the popular Prem Pkg) and Pro was $48K. 2024 Pro pricing is unknown but might be $8-10K difference.

More importantly some people do the hardcore SxS thing almost every weekend. Good for them. Other people only off road occasionally, don't want a dedicated vehicle for that, but want something more capable than an SR5/OR.

Yeah pretty much, can pick up a nice Can Am for $22K, my 3rd Gen had an msrp and $32,500.

Personally I prefer bikes, $10-15K gets a very capable motorcycle, all about a person’s skill level is, what you can do with it.

Having something fairly capable right from the manufacturer turn key is nice. After doing my own suspension a couple few times over the years, can definitely see the appeal.

Exactly. By the time you add new suspension(2K+), Wider offset wheels(1K+), 33" tires(1.2K+), Fog lights(0.6+), your time/labor and/or more money... and not under warranty, the price of a Pro is not unreasonable

No way you are agreeing a Pro is a good idea. Who are you and what have you done with SwollenGoat?

    Lol!

Ohhh, I get it. Not really my thing, but I understand the appeal.

Sorry but you aren’t getting a new Pro for under $60K. With markups probably pushing $70K.

TRD OR with 10K Premium Pkg (I want all the goodies) and 3K iMax (I want all the power) will be 58K, so 8-10K more for a Pro. Not getting a decent SxS with that.

More (horse)power but less torque, 405/430 vs 326/465. I'm guessing the Raptor would win in a 1/4mi race but off the line and to 60mph the Pro will be faster. The Ranger gets 16/18mpg and the Pro will likely get 21/24. 12K miles per year @3.50/gal saves you about $600/yr - so $6K over ten years. That chips away quite a bit. No ventilated seats available on the Ranger, that about $1K. I haven't done a line by line options comparison but the Pro definitely has a a few more features. Most importantly, I hate the Ford open door chime.

Set the headlights to switch to the auto setting and the door chime goes away...

I would take an extra 79 HP over 35 lbft of torque any day.
