It is nice having so many dealers close by, something to be said for that. 3 Toyota dealers alone. Super easy to go look at trucks while milling about. Swung by Chevy yesterday on lunch just to have a look-see. Dunno, still be hard leaving Toyota even if the GMs are a bit cheaper.

SR5 Tundra is the better deal than the Tacoma, so much more truck for not that much extra coin. Don’t do tight trails or worry about parking.

Are you saying ZR2 is $56k or the Desert Boss package is $56? Me confused. A loaded non Boss is $52-54k depending on accessories.

Holy lot of excuses. Why can’t you just agree that the Colorado is a better deal?

I posted two Colorados (both 2023). One, a Z71<ZR2 was $48K (after "savings"), the other, a ZR2 with Desert Boss pkg was $66K. The Desert Boss Pkg is $9,300, so a non-desert boss ZR2 should be... $56K.

We were comparing actual dealer pricing to actual dealer pricing. If you cherry pick one dealer vs another, one year vs another, and differently optioned vehicles this could go on forever.

I can build a Z71 less than a similar, albeit less optioned SR5.

One has a better HU, locking rear diff, more HP, more torque, better 0-60(lol), more towing capacity. The other is a Toyota.

Payloads look similar. Payload of a ZR2 is about #1100, or #400 less than Z71 or SR5 FYI.

Once you move up to an OR for comparable as possible features.... its around 50k before TTL.

TLDR: Colorado can be a great deal.

Dumping 70k in AMD stock would be smarter.

All new vehicle prices are insane. Not justifying it. Just saying. 60k for any vehicle is pretty crazy when you are my age.

You have to compare dealer pricing to dealer pricing with the Toyota they don't give you a choice with the Chevy you can actually compare online configurator pricing since you can build it that way.

How long does it take to order? How many wait that long? If you make the dealer order you a car vs sell what he has on the lot, will you be able to negotiate?

If you don't order, you have to settle for the options that Chevy/the dealer ordered, just like Toyota.

Chevy dealers don't add tube steps, window tint, door edge guards, nitrogen filled tires, and paint sealant?

Most typically dont add that shit because A. It drives the price of the vehicle up B. If the customer wants it they can add the port installed options Toyota loves for more profit than they’d receive from it being on the window sticker. Also dealer trades are a fucking nightmare because no one will trade with you if you have all that pointless shit on the truck.
Toyota is way broken when it comes to allocation.

I ordered 2 Colorado Z-71s last year..it took 6 months for them to arrive at the dealer in Nova Scotia. I should have bought one of them.

Time for order is running 10-12 weeks. You can negotiate the price when you submit the order, when it arrives if there are new incentives you can get those too. You negotiate it just like you would any other car deal. They don't add the extras on a factory order, the order is what you ordered....

Toyota profiting from the distributors stacking $1000’s of random stuff (side molding anyone?) that the buyer never asked for while they know full well that customers technically can’t order the equipment they do want is a middle finger roughly the size of the Baja peninsula.
