Yes they limit the number of TRD pros' they build a year. How many depends on the year. The dealers likely already know how many they will be allocated.

It’s not too hard to find a home for a little speaker. Through it in a cup holder, console, door pocket, etc.

Have you not seen how dealers have treated the Pro Tacoma’s and also 4Runners for the last few years? Do you think that will suddenly change with a brand new generation? It’s going to get worse.

Google "How many TRD Pro's are made each year" there is plenty of reading material to sift thru.

But is it Is this a chicken vs egg thing? Again, Toyota does not say they are limited production like they do for other models. So does Toyota start out making say 5,000 and that is all that sells because dealers mark them up so much? Toyota looks at the allocation requests and goes "we aren't getting a lot of requests for more Pros, they must not be a market for more than 5,000 of them.

You would think manufacturers would build more and more of the commonly marked up models right up until dealers no longer have the scarcity advantage to mark them up. Seems like this would be the best way to reach the peak of the supply vs demand curve for revenue. To my understanding, Toyota Corporate (and other companies) don't see additional profits from markups (i.e. its all dealer profit).

True true, trying rationalize the gimmick. Like those tractor seats, usually do suspension seats in a truck if the chassis suspension is super stiff. So what is Toyota saying then, ya know?

They may just try to make a similar amount of all models. There are so many variations of all the models with so many different upgrade packages they need to make. Now they will also have hybrid options for many of the models and the Trail Hunter models too. There’s probably over 50 different variants they are trying to build. 5,000 of each gets you 250,000 trucks.

Those would also solve the problem people have with the seats being too close to the floor.

I’ll use the shit out of it on the boat, in the garage, camp site, job site, etc.

    It’s a definitely cool feature

There are 554 4Runner Pros on AutoTrader. I only looked at the first 50 and half were at MSRP and half were at 2-10K over. One was 20K over but there was also one 2K under.

There are 20 new 2023 Tacoma Pros on AutoTrader. They are all at MSRP or below (though only by $1,000).

Cool. You should buy one of the under MSRP 23’s then.
