You posted the specs so it must be true, but it seems odd the 4g "lost" an inch of legroom in the front and lost an inch in the back too. I think the leg room is measured as a straight line. If you are sitting higher and have more leg bend, the "leg room" will appear greater. I think the rear seats in the 4g are also higher to allow for the battery.

Toyota says about an inch more hip to heel drop. An inch sounds like a little, but in ergonomics it can mean a LOT

Headroom is unchanged, but if the seats are higher and the the roof is higher, then the seating position has changed.

Probably because these trucks have been funneled from the Mexico plants straight to the Bermuda Triangle.
    There aren't any to measure

I have a 2021 and I put a front seat jacker in and I still find my leg cramping up and my back and butt not being comfortable on long drives

The entire cab is new though so those numbers don’t tell the full story relative to the old cab, you can’t compare the numbers back to back without understanding how other dimensions in the cab have been changed. That loss of legroom can easily be offset moving the seat back. I can post a tfl 3rd gen review if you want, you can clearly see in older reviews Roman’s head is much closer to the headliner in the older cab. Why do you think the overall cab got taller, look at them back to back from the outside.

Same thing happens to me. I don’t know why some of these guys can’t understand that it’s uncomfortable for other owners

Maybe the seat isn’t changed but the pedal or steering wheel locations are?

I'm getting a new vehicle this year but I want to test drive the new Taco before I close the door on It . It will either be a Tundra or a Tremor if I go full size . If I go midsize it will be Gladiator mojave , or Taco hybrid . I do a lot of driving up in the bush and I also enjoy playing in the snow . Mojave blows the comfort of my Taco out of the water but I'm paranoid because it's a jeep lol . Added safety features for 2024 have me more interested then last year's model though plus the new interior

If you are only keeping your truck for a couple years then why even worry about reliability? Get the Mojave.

I don’t trust the gladiator in the long haul but it is hands down way more fun and capable. The major complaint about the safety features in the new Toyota’s are how intrusive they are are. I’ve driven SS 3.0 and the adaptive cruise and lane assist got much better, but the amount of beeping and nagging alerts are way over the top compared to other brands.

He says he’s drives in the bush, I’ve seen too many new jeeps shit the bed still under warranty. Not ideal if you are far from civilization or want to go alone.

4g is considerably taller. I'm sure some of that is interior cabin room.

The point is comparing specific numbers back to back isn’t as accurate because other dimensions are drastically different. The same number will tell a different story depending on other measurements. The chief complaint wasn’t length so much as the hip to heel angle which was awkward and specifically addressed. The cab has gotten larger in the front, you can see clearly from just looking at pictures. Rear passenger legroom remains abysmal though. A full size is still a fair amount wider. The overall length is basically the same as the third gen, but the wheel base was pushed back 4 inches which isn’t great for break over angle. It will hands down still be a better trail tool compared to the tundra no argument, even with its increases girth, weight alone will make it better. At the end of the day it’s still a taco and will fit in most Jeep tracks. That’s what it’s made for.

My only thing is due they actually break down that often? I don't really see broken down jeeps all over my city , I am also part of am off road rescue page and I don't see a lot of issues with them there either . The engine has been around for years , all I read is how many go past 200 thousand compared to the ones that fail

From a QC standpoint some things they do better than Toyota, and some things they do worse. Their electrical systems for instance are terrible. I think it’s a combination of bad QC and jeep owners modding their rigs without regards to the stress those mods will put on major components. I’ve seen so many penta stars fail at low mileage I stay away. I’ve rescued my friends in their JK’s more times than I can count. Problems ranged from small electrical gremlins, to major issues like overheating, and complete engine and transmission failure. The Daimler days were different. Stellantis however consistently ranks at the bottom when it come to reliability.

You're literally in the minority when it comes to saying you like the comfort. All I hear is the seating position sucks so you do you . You're the one critical because apparently I should buy a full size . No I like smaller trucks because they are easier to get around in and turn around on a fsr when I only have 2 feet on the front and back to do it

I can fully acknowledge that some find it comfortable. That’s actually a minority opinion though. Most people find it adequate but not particularly comfortable, even slightly uncomfortable for very long drives. How do I know that? Well they went to the trouble of specifically addressing it in the redesign, the chief engineer has talked about it frequently after the reveal. The same reason that they specifically addressed the lack of low end torque, because it was a very widespread complaint. These decisions are based on numbers for a conservative company like Toyota. They have more than enough resources to do accurate market outreach and analysis. You have a couple minority opinions which is fine. You are satisfied with the performance of the v6, thousands of owners like myself are not and like to see improvement. Same thing with seating position. Cars are all about compromise. I will compromise a little comfort and even drivability because I’m fairly happy with my trucks reliability and love it in other ways. Doesn’t mean I can’t be critical of all its shortcomings.
