I have a hard time believing corporate wouldn't say replace the bumper

 

Most of the population doesn’t have a garage. Do you see any vehicles in a garage at the dealerships? Cars are designed to spend their lives outside.

 

The bumper us mostly plastic except for the caps which must be steel, I'm guessing a few hundred a side. Ford should probably be replacing it, if it's from road salt they probably won't do nothing.

 

Just say no to chrome. It’s ugly and it sucks.

I think the grrr gee garage arrangement has more to do with parking garages where people park their trucks. I have seen an F-450 Super Crew dually parking in a garage on several occasions. Plenty of room in the structure, gates in and out are tight you can barely pull a car out on dollies it's that tight.

 

It’s true. Unless you live in a new sub division you probably don’t have a garage.

 

Apparently some here think if you don’t have a garage your car dissolves from the rain or sun.

 

Or, some people like to protect their investments.

I fall in neither camp apparently, because I park my truck outside, yet wish it was in a garage..

Yes but if you are a buyer who already has one you will take that into account when purchasing a new vehicle. Weird argument you’re making.

 

My truck lives outside, I spend more time washing it and waxing it than I would like. If I had the space it would be in a garage. UV absolutely destroys things.

 

That would not happen on a Tacoma. Its “chrome” is plastic now.

That is extremely lame of Ford though.

 

Sorry if this has been covered in the recent past, but I was on the Toyota Canada website today and it appears that for 2024:
1) We only can get the double cab versions, no Xtracabs.
2) If you opt for a manual transmission, you can get either the Sport+ or the Off-Road, and you get a 5 foot bed.
3) If you get an automatic, you can get SR5, Sport, Sport+, Sport Premium, Off-Road, or Off-Road Premium. But they ALL come with a 6 foot bed.

The "Sport+" package has the "card key," moonroof, Bluetooth speaker, heated steering wheel, trailer brake controller, and power seats, but nothing that would persuade me to pay an extra $3,800 Canadian to get that over the "base" Off-Road in a manual. Overall, I'm pretty happy I got my 2022 when I could.

 

Number 3 is weird.

Most people here don’t keep their trucks long enough for anything to get destroyed.
Also, I’ve never had a garage anywhere I’ve lived. The truck wouldn’t be in the garage while the sun was out anyways as it would be parked at work or in use most of the daylight hours.

 

Xtracab was never out in Canada until a later date as per Sheldon in one of his videos
