And yes the Tacoma did very well on the Ike Gauntlet, but the TB in that comparison had another #300 of payload and #1200 of towing cap over the Taco.

They towed at the cap for the Taco, not the Colorado.

If you are going to compare a vehicle that is less capable offroad and claim it would get better mpg, acceleration, and braking, well your probably right.

Unless you are buying a leftover 2023, the ZR2 has 223lb more payload than the Tacoma and tows 500lb less.

They both had 2" of "squat" with the trailer. Typically leaf springs do better here. They said the Toyota had about an inch of travel left before hitting the travel stop but didn't say how much the Chevy had left.

As far as the 7700 vs 6500 towing comparison: are there really people towing a 6000 pound travel trailer with a midsize truck?

C&D: This segment of mid-size trucks has become saturated with traditional body-on-frame pickups that provide ample towing and serious off-roading capability. However, the Ridgeline caters to folks who want a more comfortable and fuel-efficient alternative. - I wouldn't call that a recommendation.

I think I would trust Car and Driver's objectivity over two guys with a YouTube channel.

Man, I never once mentioned anything about a Zr2 lol.

All I ever claimed was weirdly I think a Z71 would have fared better than the Bison in a head to head matchup vs. the OR. And the only reason I said that is because the Bison is weak compared to the Z71 and the OR in all the standard categories used for comparison.

    That is awesome

They like to use clickbait thumbnails for their videos. Dissing the most popular midsize is a guaranteed way to generate a ton of views.

It is nice that the Tacoma can do it if needed, but if I owned anything that heavy I would be looking at Tundras.

The truck market is saturated with trucks that are trucks. RIP Brock and Csaba.

There is nothing wrong with a Ridgeline for many of us. I have friends that have them and like them. I’m sure I would would be fine with ownership.

As for trust, I trust actual owners far above YouTubers and magazines. It’s the reason I am here.

I don’t think much about anyone’s opinion unless they actually own the vehicle and have driven it for thousands of miles. It seems like half the writers for mags like Motor Trend live in an apartment in a city like LA. They get a loaner truck to drive for a couple days and drive it to a state park and now are experts in truck ownership and write about their amazing adventure.
TFL seems decent as they at least buy their vehicles and beat on them for a year or so. Look at their latest Tacoma test. They took a brand new truck and towed at max capacity at wide open throttle.

Just visited Toyota Canadas web site and noticed they dropped the price of the Tacoma to $50001.50. Wonder why they didn't take an extra $1.51 off to make it less than 50K.

They didnt actually reduce the price of the truck...they reduced the dealer fees.
    Dealer Fees
Dealer Fees may be comprised of administration/documentation fees, VIN etching, anti-theft products, cold weather packages or other fees. Fees may vary.
