Further down on it has the correct info when you look at the full sheet. The very first spec sheets were like that too.

F-150 Raptors and ZR2 Colorado's are the same way, lower tow capacity.

I don't think coil springs are as good for towing as a leaf springs especially in the long travel configuration.

I finally saw one in person today. Double cab sport in silver. It rolled past my house at about 20 mph so it was a solid 5-10 second long snapshot, about as long enough for me to tell it was a Tacoma and not a Tundra.

My only take away from the initial glimpse: the grill doesn’t look that bad.

With the prices on the new Tacomas I will be considering the Rager Raptor. Toyota needs to get competitive on price or they will be over taken. You have to adapt to the market. They will learn their lesson.

They are competitive when you compare different models with as many like features as possible. Frontier pro4x with safety tech package is $2k less than a similar Trd OR. Same as ranger, same as gm twins, all hover in low-mid 40k.

If “Tacoma expensive” is how you justify dropping almost 60k on a ranger raptor, that’s fine. But most people aren’t cross shopping a base Trd with a ranger raptor.

Hasn't the Tacoma always been a couple K more than Chevy/Ford/Nissan?

Well, there's more and more on the road every day. I saw a solar octane trd sport this morning turning left across the intersection while waiting at the light to turn right. I'm sure it was pre ordered. :pumpkin:

I thought so but he is still talking about spending $4k more than a fully loaded off road that has more tech/comfort than the Ranger R.

Well, I think I do like the smaller bedside TRD sticker on the 4th gen, so there is that.

What tech does Toyota have that others (Ford specifically) don’t? I haven’t really compared them spec for spec.

I think the tech is pretty similar. The crazy thing to me is people wanting to go with the RR. When it has less towing and payload. According to TW that is the most important thing in a truck and the 4g is already awful. But it's better than the RR

If you don't tow and don't regularly max the payload, isn't having a 1,700lb payload vs 1,200 going to give you a much stiffer ride? A long time ago I helped a buddy put a small block in a formerly big block Chevelle. It drove like crap until we swapped out the front coil springs.
