I am talking about getting the RR over the TRD Pro. Pro is going to be way over priced.

Yes, but they really haven’t had any competition for years. Now they do.

Although their Q1 numbers aren’t good, it isn’t completely due to their slow launch. They do appear to be losing share. The Colorado looks good and Ford finally has a Ranger people will consider.

2024 is going to be interesting. I would imagine Toyota is having a lot of internal discussion on price, packaging, distributor shenanigans, etc.

The main thing you'd be getting with RR is, in theory, better performance than the MAX without the long-term overhead of running hybrid technology.

I'm not sure how reliable EcoBost is, though. I've heard mixed reviews.

Using the towing numbers and payload of a Halo vehicle built to do one thing very well at the cost of almost all other things just to crap on someone's towing and payload argument is disingenuous. The Ranger Raptor is not the best ranger to do actual work. It does still has more payload than my 3rd gen and every 4th gen I have seen so far though.

A F-150 Raptor has almost half the towing cap and payload of the normal F-150 when maxxed, so it tracks that the mid size version would be less than the typical model versions as well.

Halo vehicles are so special purpose built, they tend to stink at doing normal truck things. They seem to make great commuter cars since I never see one anywhere else.

I wasn't addressing you personally, so please don't take it as such.

I had edited out a part where thankfully Toyota was bucking the trend, for the most part with the TH and Pro. Toyota has done well with the TH as far as payload and towing for what it is designed for IMO. I myself have not knocked Toyota for the lower tow numbers that the hybrid got hit with. Trucks heavier, gonna tow less IMO. I do knock the Taco in general since it's towing numbers are already amongst the lowest in the class, that's a separate issue though.

Ultimately if you tow or haul, ANY of these Halo vehicles are the last I would choose for that task myself. I try to buy for my needs before my wants. Not everyone does the same.

My dealer says there are a dozen on the wait list for the Pro. I live in an area where there are no trails but malls galore.

The what-his-face guy said that the MAX models will be revealed on 4/9. I think that's BS as there's no way they would have the Taco crash the ScudRunner's party.

Well, both, I guess, depending on how much you are willing to share.

Just passing the time until the dealer texts me that my 2026 is ready.

I mostly tow my tractor, my sidebyside and my cargo trailer for work. Usually 3.5k or less. My truck has 85k plus miles and 50k or more of that is hitched to something. I tow lots of project stuff around and things back and forth between my house and cabin.

Nothing super big like a max camper or such, but I am looking to get a mini ex and want to keep my options open with my next truck.

This is why we need a diesel option. I know: wrong lifetime, wrong continent.
