Yeah. I don’t think the Tacos stacked in the lots is agenda, conspiracy, or PhotoShop (or all of the above). I’m as certain as I can be that it’s happening.

For some reason, I thought the manny was only available in the Sport.

You need to put that in perspective. Toyota sold about 230,000 Tacomas last year and 230,000 Corollas. How many Corollas do they have on the lot? That could be normal inventory.

Saw a Black OR at the hockey rink tonight. Pretty sharp looking truck. It had the 14" screen and the nice seats. The 2 tone interior and small screen aren't for me.

It did have the stupid small spare also.

I think the point is that "Tacomas on the lot" is a relatively new phenomenon and bodes well for those waiting for discounts before purchasing one. This is the first time in 3 years I've seen any Tacomas on my local dealers lot.

    It's definitely a good sign.

Now, does it ultimately equate to us paying $2,500 less, $5,000 less, or $10,000 less is the question. $10k might sound like a pipe dream, but we'll have to see where this economy goes.

I am seeing the ones I have test driven on the roads now. I haven’t been to the lot in a few weeks now that I hear the Pro price is about to be announced. However they are selling Tacoma’s here. Even with the stupid ads-ons the dealers are doing.

the trucks look good. Even the bare bones SR’s.

The more Gen4’s we finally see out on the roads, the faster Gen3’s looks will age. Still handsome, but immediately recognizable as the “old” one. Gen4 also looks noticeably larger and taller in person, and the new proportions, which might’ve looked awkward last May, now appear correct. I’d argue that the overall widened track and taller roof makes even the new SR5 look about as aggressive as a ‘23 Pro.

It’s been so long since we’ve seen normal inventories that noticing just a few on hand can seem like a lot. Either way, trucks sitting at dealers mean better deals.

The 'ol V6 will keep your 3rd gen resale high for years (decades?) to come. The mid-cycle refresh of Gen4 (hybrid)...thats when I'd likely trade (if I stay in a Tacoma).

Not the v6 but the Toyota name is what will keep the resale values high. But not higher than gen4s, just like the v8 Tundras have good resale values (relative Ford/RAM/Chevy) but do not sell for more than gen3s.

I think you're overestimating the knowledge level of the general public.
