I wonder how long it will be until someone pulls apart an affected 3.4TT and a current (>April 2024) 3.4TT and compares the mains in a YT video.

Dude, it’s a hypothetical situation. I don’t own a Tundra. Never going to either.

I went to a Toyota dealer earlier this week, the service lane was getting pretty backed up. They did a good job keeping it moving. Just seeing that, and thinking about the "engine rebuild" the dealership service dept isn't the best place for the rebuild. I'm sure there are techs that can handle the job, but they shouldn't be burdened with this. Looks like it's going to be complete engine swaps now.

Toyota's fix is a new engine. It's not a rebuild TSB.

I like the idea of a complete engine replacement over the rebuild. Not that I would want to deal with either issue. Not tearing into the engine is a better set of circumstances, still a good bit of work for who ever is doing it. Less things to go wrong I would think.

Are we talking Tacoma engines? Isn't this a Tacoma thread. Just curious.

Tundra engines. The Taco engine hasn't 'sploded yet. At least not to my knowledge.

And the thread is 4th Gen TACOMA. what is your point? It isn’t “anyone having problems with their Tundra engine”

Thread derails are par for the course. If that ruffles your feathers, the door swings both ways.

Doesn’t ruffle my feathers at all it was just a stupid reply to my very basic question about what engines folks were talking about. I thought they were Tacomas since we are in a Tacoma thread.

Has anyone seen the gen 4 Tacoma Black wheel option in person? From what I gather it includes blacked out wheels that are -45 offset for a wider stance and possibly a leveling kit! There is one allocated in the sport trim for a dealership about 100 miles from me, that's how I heard about! If you've seen one I'd be curious to know what you thought of it!

I seriously doubt -45 offset is accurate. Where did you read this?

I will say that ToyotaUSA's decision to replace 100,000 V35A-FTS's has regained quite a bit of my respect.

Regarding discussions about Tundra and other vehicles in this thread and on this forum:

It's all inter-related and relevant. I'll leave it at that.
