    This is what I read off the dealership website...

    TRD 18-in Black Wheel* $1,325
    These 18-in alloy wheels with the TRD logo center cap throw down while styling up.
    •Off-road race-inspired 18-in. x 8-in. cast aluminum wheel with 6 lug nut pattern
    •45-mm. wheel offset widens the overall vehicle track width for more aggressive stance
    •Incorporates the proper weight, offset and brake clearance to ensure proper fit, finish and reliability
    •Extensive ride, handling and strength tests ensure wheels meet TRD's high-quality standards

    So who has had the opportunity to actually test drive and I force max yet? Because I just did and I’ll be honest, it was pretty much a night and day difference, especially in tone. I drove a non-hybrid and a hybrid side-by-side both in sport mode, and the non-hybrid still sounded four-cylinder, even in sport mode, where the hybrid one gave you no indication of there ever being a four-cylinder involved making you feel like you’re getting your moneys worth. Sidenote, after three sports, I think I’m actually making the jump to an off-road because it’s such a huge difference in suspension response

    Test drove a pro yesterday while picking up filters at the dealership. It’s a very noticeable difference just around town. Didn’t get to drive it on the highway though. The 2.4l by itself is much better than the 3.5 but not super impressive. I was impressed by the max. I can see it handling weight, heavier payload, and larger tires much better. Would love to try it off-road.

    I was able to drive the hybrid and non-hybrid side by side and to be honest, I really did not feel much of a difference. Now I did have a nagging GF that was too afraid for me to get any decent speed. Maybe I need to go test drive on my own. :)

    @smugly

    Did you find the OR to ride better on-road than the Sport?

    by a land slide.... and no exaggeration. It was quite a noticeable difference. to the point that I have owned 3 sports in a row and I'm now going to convert to an off road. (even the GF spoke up about the difference and she never has an option when it comes to vehicals)

    I think a lot of people like the softer shocks on the OR.

    I actually thought they were stiffer but smoother and more responsive.

    I drive a 2009 TRD OR. I wonder how the Gen 4 OR compares on-road.

    I like Car Care Nut and this video, but his A-game is reviewing past service experience, as related to commonly reported issues. A couple years ago he gave an equally thorough mechanic’s review on the all-new Gen3 Tundra. Of course he would’ve had no idea then what would happen. But a few years from now I’m sure he’ll recommend avoiding ‘22-‘23 Tundra’s.

    Early Tundra owners discovered the bearing issues (and a lot of other crap) the hard way, so following their lead, we just need a lot more brave souls to get out there and beat on these Gen4’s, so in a couple years from now, the rest of us will know if we’ll also need a full engine swap or new turbo.

    Why? They'll have brand-new engines.

    Sure. Engines installed by various local dealership techs instead of by the Toyota factory. Sounds like heaven.
